Traversing the effects of ploidy changes in different Eragrostis curvula genotypes through high‐throughput RNA sequencing

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 19, Issue 2, June 2026.
Abstract Polyploidization has played a key role in plant genome evolution. Eragrostis curvula (Schrad.) Ness, a perennial forage grass species of the Poaceae family, is an excellent model for investigating genome duplication due to its natural variation in ploidy levels.

B‐Mode Ultrasonographic Evaluation and Reference Dimensions of the Liver and Spleen in Healthy Lactating Saanen Goats

open access: yesVeterinary Radiology &Ultrasound, Volume 67, Issue 3, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to establish reference ultrasonographic parameters for the liver and spleen in 34 healthy Saanen goats. The spleen was visualized between the 12th and 8th intercostal spaces (ICS), with homogeneous parenchyma and a hyperechoic capsule and splenic vein with a mean diameter of 3.3 ± 0.9 mm.

Losses occurring during ensilage

open access: yes, 1972
In the first of two studies, five laboratory experiments were performed to investigate the effects of oxygen, trapped with ryegrass in sealed silos at the time of ensiling, on the course and final outcome of fermentation. In the first three experiments the oxygen treatment was imposed by ensiling different weights of grass in the fixed volume of the ...

Estimation of the Number of Nuisance Bears in the Oshima Peninsula, Hokkaido

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, Volume 68, Issue 2, April 2026.
In this study, we aimed to estimate the number of nuisance bears based on damage and occurrence reports collected from 2009 to 2023 in the Oshima Peninsula, Hokkaido. For the estimation, we assessed the harmfulness level (from Condition 0 to 3) of the bears based on the details of the reports and developed a method to remove double or more overcounts ...
