This study investigated multidrug resistance in Gram‐negative bacteria from chicken and pork meat in Kathmandu, isolating 136 strains from 13 samples. Nearly half were multidrug resistant, highlighting contaminated meat as a potential route for zoonotic transmission and the need for antimicrobial resistance monitoring in Nepal.

A rapid, cost‐effective dual‐detection strategy for Klebsiella pneumoniae K2 was developed by combining a label‐free AuNP colorimetric assay (LOD: 1.56 ng/μL, 60 min) with duplex PCR targeting K2A and orf10 genes (LOD: 1 pg/μL). This approach enables rapid screening with accurate genetic validation for point‐of‐care diagnostics in resource‐limited ...

soil‐derived Streptomyces sp. SM7 with bactericidal and antioxidant activities ABSTRACT Extended‐spectrum β‐lactamase (ESBL)–producing Gram‐negative bacteria pose a severe therapeutic challenge globally. Streptomyces remain one of the most prolific natural sources of antibacterial and antioxidant secondary metabolites, yet their activity against ESBL ...

Abstract Enteropathogenic bacteria are a major cause of morbidity and mortality globally. While mouse models have been indispensable in advancing our understanding of infectious enteric diseases, key differences in intestinal microbiota and immunobiology between mice and humans underscore the need for alternative mammalian models that better ...
