Enthalpies of solvation of 1,4,7,10,13,16-hexaoxacyclooctadecane in solvents

The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 2004
Abstract The enthalpies of solution of 1,4,7,10,13,16-hexaoxacyclooctadecane at infinite dilution have been determined in tetrachloremetane, benzene, chloroform, toluene, ethyl acetate, pyridine, acetone, dimethylformamide, dimethylsulfoxide, methanol, acetonitrile, benzyl alcohol, and water at temperature of 298.15 K.

Enthalpy of solvation of carbonium ions

Journal of the Chemical Society, Faraday Transactions 1: Physical Chemistry in Condensed Phases, 1972
Literature data on the rate of hydrolysis of t-butyl chloride and of the acid-catalyzed hydration of isobutene, both in dilute aqueous solution, have been combined with thermochemical data to yield standard heats of formation of the respective t-butyl cation-like transition states.

Enthalpies of solvation of alkali halides in formamide. II.: Evaluation of experimental ionic enthalpies of solvation

Recueil des Travaux Chimiques des Pays-Bas, 1966
AbstractFrom known lattice enthalpies and measured enthalpies of solution in formamide the enthalpies of solvation of 18 alkali halides in this solvent are calculated. A plot of the enthalpies of solvation of a series of alkali halides with one common cation against the reciprocal crystal radii of the anions is linear.

Using Machine Learning to Predict Enthalpy of Solvation

Journal of Solution Chemistry, 2019
Enthalpy of solvation is an important thermodynamic property for studying molecular interactions. However, measuring enthalpies of solvation is non-trivial and time-consuming. Therefore, models that can predict enthalpy of solvation values are of significant worth to the general community.

Enthalpies of fusion and enthalpies of solvation of aromatic hydrocarbons derivatives: Estimation of sublimation enthalpies at 298.15 K

Thermochimica Acta, 2016
© 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.Enthalpy of sublimation of solid compound can be found using the values of solution enthalpy and solvation enthalpy in any solvent. In this work enthalpies of solution at infinite dilution of a number of aromatic hydrocarbons derivatives in benzene were measured at 298.15 K.

Enthalpies of formation and solvation of some organic anions

Faraday Symposia of the Chemical Society, 1975
Procedures are described for measuring ΔHD, the enthalpy of deprotonation for organic Bronsted acids in DMSO. Evidence from a number of sources is presented to demonstrate that the deprotonation process is clean and complete.Correlation with Bordwell's pKa data shows that ΔH°D=ΔG°D in DMSO for the compounds considered here.

Thermodynamic study of (perfluoroalkane + alkane) mixtures: Excess and solvation enthalpies

The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 2007
A newly designed calorimetric technique and calculation procedure have been used to obtain partial molar enthalpies, (H) over bar (i), and excess enthalpies, H-E, for binary mixture of hexane + perfluoro-n-alkanes (C5-C8) and perfluorohexane + n-alkanes (C5-C8), + cyclohexane, and + 2-methylheptane.

The solvation of some alcohols in binary solvents: enthalpies of solution and enthalpies of transfer

The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 1981
Enthalpies of solution of 10 alcohols CnH2n + 1 + 1OH with n = 1 to 5 have been measured calorimetrically in (N,N-dimethylformamide + water) at 298.15 K over the whole composition range. For comparison enthalpies of solution of butanol have also been determined in (N,N-dimethylformamide + dimethylsulfoxide) and (N,N-dimethylformamide + N ...

Solvation enthalpies of neutral solutes in water and octanol

Theoretical Chemistry Accounts, 2009
The balance between electrostatic and non-electrostatic enthalpic contributions to the free energy of solvation of a series of neutral solutes in water and n-octanol is examined by means of continuum solvation calculations based on the Miertus–Scrocco–Tomasi (MST) method.
