Solutions of group IV elements in liquid lithium. Solubilities, enthalpies of solution and solvation enthalpies

Journal of the Chemical Society, Faraday Transactions 1: Physical Chemistry in Condensed Phases, 1982
The solubilities of tin (0.00 ⩽xSn⩽ 0.0129) and of lead (0.00 ⩽xPb⩽ 0.0140) in liquid lithium have been determined by equilibrium resistivity methods and can be represented by the equations: ln xSn= 4.742 – 6794/T 579 ⩽T/K ⩽ 745, ln xPb= 5.717 – 6722/T 513 ⩽T/K ⩽ 670.

A new method for the extraction of specific interaction enthalpy from the enthalpy of solvation

Journal of Physical Organic Chemistry, 2004
AbstractA new, simple method for the extraction of specific interaction enthalpy from the enthalpy of solvation is proposed. It is based on empirical but very general relationships describing the non‐specific solvation enthalpy. The specific interaction enthalpy is calculated from the solution enthalpies in the solvent under consideration, cyclohexane ...

Prediction of solvation enthalpy of gaseous organic compounds in propanol

Russian Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2016
The purpose of this paper is to present a novel way for developing quantitative structure-property relationship (QSPR) models to predict the gas-to-propanol solvation enthalpy (ΔH solv) of 95 organic compounds. Different kinds of descriptors were calculated for each compound using the Dragon software package.

Enthalpies of solvation for dopamine hydrochloride in water-ethanol solutions

Russian Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2012
The enthalpies of dissolution of dopamine hydrochloride (H2Dop · HCl) in water-ethanol solvents containing from 0 to 0.8 mole fraction of ethanol are measured by calorimetry at 298.15 K. Standard enthalpies of transfer (Δtr H ∘) for the molecular (H2Dop) and cationic (H3Dop+) forms of dopamine from water into binary solvents are calculated from the ...

Predictions of solvation and vaporization enthalpies. 1.n-alkane +n-alkane solutions

Journal of Solution Chemistry, 1993
A simple method for the calculation of the enthalpy of solvation is presented and demonstrated for 35 n-alkane + n-alkane solutions at 25°C. There is a good agreement between the predicted and experimental values. The calculation was based on the separation of the solvation enthalpy into the cavity formation and solute-solvent interaction contributions.
