Transmission Success of Entomopathogenic Nematodes Used in Pest Control
Entomopathogenic nematodes from the two genera Steinernema and Heterorhabditis are widely used as biological agents against various insect pests and represent a promising alternative to replace pesticides.

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of biostimulants derived from Streptomyces avermitilis metabolites on entomopathogenic nematodes: Steinernema carpocapsae, Steinernema feltiae, and Heterorhabditis bacteriophora, obtained from the soil of several ...

A new threat to bees? Entomopathogenic nematodes used in biological pest control cause rapid mortality in Bombus terrestris [PDF]
There is currently a great deal of concern about population declines in pollinating insects. Many potential threats have been identified which may adversely affect the behaviour and health of both honey bees and bumble bees: these include pesticide ...

Identification of Natural Isonitriles Through Ligation to an Azomethine Imine Probe
The azomethine imine (AMI)–isonitrile (NC) ligation allowed for the chemoselective detection of natural isonitriles in bacteria and fungi. The reactivity‐based screening establishes a new stereogenic center, thereby allowing for facile distinction between chiral and achiral isonitriles. The work also unraveled a unique reactivity of isonitriles bearing

Entomopathogenic nematodes - A review
The entomopathogenic nematodes possessing balanced biological control attributes belong to genera Steinernema and Heterorhabditis and are having mutualistic association with bacteria of the genus Xenorhabdus for Steinernematidae and Photorhabdus for Heterorhabditidae.

Soil‐dwelling entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) kill arthropod hosts by injecting their symbiotic bacteria into the host hemolymph and feed on the bacteria and the tissue of the dying host for several generations cycles until the arthropod cadaver is ...

Aerobic Actinobacteria belonging to the genus Frigoribacterium were isolated from adelgid Adelges (Aphrastasia) pectinatae collected from a Korean fir tree. Genomic analysis showed that these bacteria encode a range of factors that may be involved in the interactions between Frigoribacterium strains, adelgids and/or Korean fir trees.
