A generalized approach for enhancing contact-electro-catalysis of oxides in a broad temperature range by fluorination

open access: yesNature Communications
Contact-electro-catalysis (CEC) has emerged as a sustainable and effective strategy for promoting chemical reactions. While polymers are the mostly used CEC catalysts, their limited contact-electrification (CE) performance at high temperatures limits the

A note on the connection between nonextensive entropy and $h$-derivative

open access: yes, 2019
In order to study as a whole the major part of entropy measures, we introduce a two-parameter non-extensive entropic form with respect to the \textit{h}-derivative which generalizes the conventional Newton-Leibniz calculus.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Entropy rate of higher-dimensional cellular automata

open access: yes, 2012
We introduce the entropy rate of multidimensional cellular automata. This number is invariant under shift-commuting isomorphisms; as opposed to the entropy of such CA, it is always finite.

General form of entropy on the horizon of the universe in entropic cosmology

open access: yes, 2016
Entropic cosmology assumes several forms of entropy on the horizon of the universe, where the entropy can be considered to behave as if it were related to the exchange (the transfer) of energy.

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Electron Redistribution Drives Structural Ordering in Sulfate (SO4) Adlayers

open access: yesChemElectroChem
In this work, the coadsorption of SO4 and H2O at the Au(111)‐electrolyte interface is investigated. It is uncovered how electron redistribution between coadsorbates correlates with the formation of tightly packed (√3a) SO4‐adsorbate chains, which have ...

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

Three Key Aspects of Electron Transfer Behavior in Single-Electrode Triboelectric Nanogenerators for Sensing Optimization

open access: yesSensors
With the rapid development of the Internet of Things, self-powered sensing technology has become a crucial solution for scenarios where an external power supply is inconvenient or unavailable, such as wild monitoring and flexible wearables.
