Entropy of Quantum Measurements
If a is a quantum effect and ρ is a state, we define the ρ-entropy Sa(ρ) which gives the amount of uncertainty that a measurement of a provides about ρ. The smaller Sa(ρ) is, the more information a measurement of a gives about ρ. In Entropy for Effects, we provide bounds on Sa(ρ) and show that if a+b is an effect, then Sa+b(ρ)≥Sa(ρ)+Sb(ρ).

Sofic entropy and amenable groups [PDF]
In previous work, I introduced a measure-conjugacy invariant for sofic group actions called sofic entropy. Here it is proven that the sofic entropy of an amenable group action equals its classical entropy. The proof uses a new measure-conjugacy invariant

Measuring Quantum Entropy [PDF]
The entropy of a quantum system is a measure of its randomness, and has applications in measuring quantum entanglement. We study the problem of measuring the von Neumann entropy, $S(ρ)$, and Rényi entropy, $S_α(ρ)$ of an unknown mixed quantum state $ρ$ in $d$ dimensions, given access to independent copies of $ρ$.

Determination of Parameters for an Entropy-Based Atrial Fibrillation Detector
Entropy algorithm is an important nonlinear method for cardiovascular disease detection due to its power in analyzing short-term time series. In previous a study, we proposed a new entropy-based atrial fibrillation (AF) detector, i.e., EntropyAF, which ...

EEG-based human emotion recognition using entropy as a feature extraction measure
Many studies on brain–computer interface (BCI) have sought to understand the emotional state of the user to provide a reliable link between humans and machines.

Similarity measure, entropy and distance measure of multiple sets [PDF]
A multiple set is an extended version of a fuzzy set that simultaneously addresses an element’s multiplicity and uncertainty. In this paper, we define the approximate equality of multiple sets and study some relevant properties associated with it.

Relative entropy, Haar measures and relativistic canonical velocity distributions [PDF]
The thermodynamic maximum principle for the Boltzmann-Gibbs-Shannon (BGS) entropy is reconsidered by combining elements from group and measure theory. Our analysis starts by noting that the BGS entropy is a special case of relative entropy.

A novel entropy measure of Pythagorean fuzzy soft sets
Pythagorean fuzzy soft set (PFSS) is one of the useful extension of the Pythagorean fuzzy set (PFS) to deal with the vagueness and uncertainties in the data. The major advantages of PFSS over the other existing sets are to consider the parameterized tool
