Enzymatic degumming: Degumming efficiency versus yield increase
European Journal of Lipid Science and Technology, 2014Enzymatic degumming trials were performed on crude extracted soybean (SBO) and rapeseed oils (RSO) with a microbial phospholipase A1 (Lecitase Ultra®). We obtained a degummed oil with a phosphorus content < 10 mg/kg when applying an enzyme dosage of 30 mg/kg and (feedstock dependent) a contact time of 10–120 min.

AbstractThe first enzymatic degumming process to be used industrially was the EnzyMax® process that was launched in 1992; it used porcine phospholipase A2 (PLA2). Subsequently, various microbial phospholipases (PLases) with different specificities have been developed.

Comparison of acid degumming and enzymatic degumming process for Silybum marianum seed oil
Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 2013AbstractBACKGROUNDIn this study the effects of processing conditions of acid degumming and enzymatic degumming on the removal of phospholipids from Silybum marianum seed oil were investigated and the degumming efficiency was compared based on the phospholipid content.RESULTSAn orthogonal array experimental design was performed to optimise the process ...

Neural Network Modeling for Bio-enzymatic Degumming on Kenaf
2009 Fifth International Conference on Natural Computation, 2009In order to reduce chemical residues on kenaf fiber and solve the environmental pollution caused by traditional degumming methods, bio-enzymatic degumming on kenaf was proposed, and a neural network model was built to optimize the parameters during industrialized production.

Enzymatic oil-degumming by a novel microbial phospholipase
European Journal of Lipid Science and Technology, 2001Phospholipase A-mediated oil-degumming is a well-established process step (EnzyMax®) in physical refining of vegetable oils (rape seed, soy bean, sunflower seed). A screening programme for microbial phospholipases of type A has been carried out. The target has been to develop a stable and robust phospholipase with optimal oil-degumming performance in ...

Acid and Enzymatic Degumming of Wheat Germ Oil
Transactions of the ASABE, 2015The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of acid and enzymatic degumming for crude wheat germ oil refining. Both hexane extracted and mechanically pressed oils were examined in the study. The effects of five variables on acid degumming efficiency were examined: temperature, time (mixing type: 60 min stirring versus 2 min ...
