Fhl1p protein, a positive transcription factor in Pichia pastoris, enhances the expression of recombinant proteins

open access: yesMicrobial Cell Factories, 2019
Background The methylotrophic yeast Pichia pastoris is well-known for the production of a broad spectrum of functional types of heterologous proteins including enzymes, antigens, engineered antibody fragments, and next gen protein scaffolds and many ...

Enzyme Microb. Technol.

open access: yes, 2005
For the regulation of photosynthesis at gene level, the genes encoding fructose-1,6-bisphosphate aldolase (ALD) and triosephosphate isomerase (TPI) were transferred into filamentous, heterocystour cyanobacterium Anabaena sp.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Multiple strategies to improve the yield of chitinase a from Bacillus licheniformis in Pichia pastoris to obtain plant growth enhancer and GlcNAc

open access: yesMicrobial Cell Factories, 2020
Chitinase and chitin-oligosaccaride can be used in multiple field, so it is important to develop a high-yield chitinase producing strain. Here, a recombinant Pichia pastoris with 4 copies of ChiA gene from Bacillus licheniformis and co-expression of ...

The molecular basis of the effect of temperature on enzyme activity

open access: yes, 2010
Experimental data show that the effect of temperature on enzymes cannot be adequately explained in terms of a two-state model based on increases in activity and denaturation.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

A new phosphatase of the haloacid dehalogenase superfamily from the hyperthermophilic archaeon Thermococcus onnurineus NA1

open access: yes, 2007
As a part of genomic research of the Thermococcus onnurineus NA1, a hyperthermophilic archaeon collected from a deep-sea hydrothermal vent area, a gene annotated as a hydrolase of the haloacid dehalogenase superfamily was investigated to assign its ...
