Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Convenient preparation of sagittatoside B, a rare bioactive secondary flavonol glycoside, by recyclable and integrated biphase enzymatic hydrolysis

open access: yes, 2019
Sagittatoside B, a rare secondary flavonol glycoside in Epimedii Folium, has much better in vivo bioactivities than its original glycoside epimedin B. Its preparation methods, such as acidic hydrolysis, are of low efficiency, and byproducts are generated.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Association of Enzyme Inhibition with Methods of Museum Skin Preparation

open access: yes, 1997
Enzyme inhibition is commonly encountered when using molecular biological techniques on museum-prepared animal skin samples, and this problem is exacerbated by a lack of information on how particular skins have been prepared for preservation. This report:
