Enzyme Leakage and Multipoint Attachment of Agarose‐Bound Enzyme Preparations [PDF]
The solvolytic detachment of leucine aminopeptidase fromSepharose‐enzyme conjugates with multiple and single anchoring bonds has been studied under a variety of conditions by radiochemical and enzymological methods. The release of the single‐point‐fixed conjugate could be described by a leakage function, derived previously, yielding the first‐order ...

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

USE OF BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE SUBSTANCES OF THE HYDROLASE CLASS IN COMPOUND FEED FOR PIGS
The high efficiency of poultry and pigs is based on high-yielding breeds, balanced high-yielding mixed fodders and appropriate animal holding conditions. Recently, the tendency of increasing the efficiency of the nutritional potential of mixed fodder has

MILK-COAGULATION AND PROTEOLYTIC ACTIVITY OF «GLYECK» — CARPATHIAN ENZYME PREPARATION [PDF]
The purpose of this work was to study milk-clotting and proteolytic properties of preparation «Glyeck». Using Soxhlet method we showed that the preparation possesses a high milk-clotting activity, and this activity doesn't change a lot during the storing

Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Influence of cellulolytic preparation on the productive qualities of snails of the Helix Aspersa Maxima species [PDF]
Heliciculture is a branch of animal husbandry that deals with cultivation and using edible terrestrial snails for food and cosmetic purposes. This type of animal husbandry has an advantage over others in terms of simplicity of technology, as snails do ...
