A CASE OF EOSINOPHILIC HEART DISEASE WITHOUT EOSINOPHILIC LEUCOCYTOSIS

open access: yes, 1997
A 41-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital because of dyspnea. Physical examination revealed pulmonary congestion, hepatomegaly, and bilateral pretibial edema. She was diagnosed as having congestive heart failure.

Correlation of bronchoalveolar eosinophilic percentage with airway responsiveness in cats with chronic bronchial disease

open access: yes, 2013
Objectives: To retrospectively assess the relationship between bronchoalveolar lavage fluid analysis and lung function parameters as assessed by means of barometric whole body plethysmography and airway responsiveness testing in cats with chronic ...

Efficacy of Full and Limited Endoscopic Sinus Surgery in Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps: A Randomised Controlled Trial

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
Both Full and Limited FESS result in clinically meaningful relief of disease‐specific HRQoL and nasal breathing, effectively improving nasal symptoms and sleep disturbance in CRSwNP patients. Clinically meaningful difference in decrease of SNOT‐22 scores between the groups was not found at 12‐ and 24–month follow‐up.

Skin Abnormalities at Checkpoint Inhibitor Therapy Initiation Are Associated With Skin Rash Development in Oncology Patients

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
Skin tape strip lipidomic analysis revealed preexisting skin barrier lipid abnormalities at day 0 that were further exacerbated after 6 weeks of CPI treatment. Significant changes in skin (but not plasma) proinflammatory cytokines were identified in future ircAE patients after 6 weeks of CPI immunotherapy.

Basophils in Immunity: Activation Pathways, Roles in Allergy and AllergoOncology and Application of the Basophil Activation Test

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Basophils, the least abundant leukocytes, are increasingly recognised as potent immunomodulators. Upon activation, they rapidly release preformed granule‐associated mediators including histamine and lipid mediators such as LTC4, while cytokine production occurs over a longer timescale, contributing to downstream immune responses.

Acute Eosinophilic Pneumonia Associated with Amitriptyline in a Hemodialysis Patient

open access: yes, 2001
Drugs are well known causes of eosinophilic lung disease. In many patients, drug-induced eosinophilic lung disease presents with transient eosinophilic infiltrates that disappear after discontinuation of the drug.

Serum‐Proteomic Profiling Reveals Distinct Atopic Dermatitis Severity‐Linked Signatures

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
This study aimed to identify a set of serum biomarkers that robustly distinguish prespecified severe from mild atopic dermatitis groups. Serum proteomic profiling distinguishes severe from mild atopic dermatitis, revealing an epithelial enriched severity footprint linked to LDH‐associated tissue injury and Th2/Th22 inflammation.

Nomenclature on Immune‐Mediated Drug Reactions: An EAACI Position Paper

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Over the past several decades, there have been significant advances in our understanding of both immunological and pharmacological mechanisms of adverse drug reactions (ADRs). Immune‐mediated drug reactions (IMDRs) represent a small proportion of ADRs and are caused by a pathological activation of the immune system or inflammatory pathways ...
