Pathological investigation and viral antigen distribution of emerging African swine fever in Vietnam

open access: yesTransboundary and Emerging Diseases, Volume 68, Issue 4, Page 2039-2050, July 2021., 2021
Abstract African swine fever (ASF) is emerging in Vietnam and poses a continuing severe threat to the swine industry. A histopathological study of clinical samples collected during the May to July 2019 outbreak of ASF was performed to determine the characteristic lesions. We analysed samples from eight ASFV‐infected farms.

A new vaccination regimen using adenovirus-vectored vaccine confers effective protection against African swine fever virus in swine

open access: yesEmerging Microbes and Infections, 2023
African swine fever (ASF) is an acute and highly contagious lethal infectious disease in swine that severely threatens the global pig industry. At present, a safe and efficacious vaccine is urgently required to prevent and control the disease.

The Production of Recombinant African Swine Fever Virus Lv17/WB/Rie1 Strains and Their In Vitro and In Vivo Characterizations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
18 Pág.Lv17/WB/Rie1-Δ24 was produced via illegitimate recombination mediated by low-dilution serial passage in the Cos7 cell line and isolated on PAM cell culture. The virus contains a huge ~26.4 Kb deletion in the left end of its genome.

Rapid emergence of African swine fever virus variants with different numbers of a tandem repeat sequence in South Korea

open access: yesTransboundary and Emerging Diseases, Volume 68, Issue 4, Page 1726-1730, July 2021., 2021
Abstract African swine fever virus variants with different numbers of a 10‐bp tandem repeat were isolated in South Korea soon after being identified in wild boar. The short emergence periods and sympatric distributions within a narrow geographical region suggest that the variants were sporadically generated in the pre‐existing viral population.

African swine fever vaccines: a promising work still in progress [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
African swine fever (ASF), a disease of obligatory declaration to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), has contributed to poverty and underdevelopment of affected areas.

Subsequent Immunization of Pigs with African Swine Fever Virus (ASFV) Seroimmunotype IV Vaccine Strain FK-32/135 and by Recombinant Plasmid DNA Containing the CD2v Derived from MK-200 ASFV Seroimmunotype III Strain Does Not Protect from Challenge with ASFV Seroimmunotype III

open access: yesVaccines, 2023
Understanding the immunological mechanisms of protection and the viral proteins involved in the induction of a protective immune response to the African swine fever virus (ASFV) is still limited.

First Report of a Complete Genome Sequence of a Variant African Swine Fever Virus in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam

open access: yesPathogens, 2022
The objective of this study is to report the complete-genome sequence of a field African swine fever (ASF) virus (ASFV), namely ASF/VN/CanTho-OM/2021, which caused a fatal outbreak in domestic pigs in the Mekong Delta. Complete-genome sequencing detected

Production of Recombinant African Swine Fever Viruses: Speeding Up the Process

open access: yesViruses, 2020
African swine fever (ASF) is a devastating disease in pigs, with no vaccines for control. The genetic manipulation of African swine fever virus (ASFV) is often tedious and time consuming.

Construction and Evaluation of Recombinant Pseudorabies Virus Expressing African Swine Fever Virus Antigen Genes

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2022
African swine fever (ASF) is a highly contact infectious disease caused by the African swine fever virus (ASFV). The extremely complex structure and infection mechanism make it difficult to control the spread of ASFV and develop the vaccine.

Viral Vector Vaccines Against ASF: Problems and Prospectives [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
African swine fever (ASF) is a highly contagious viral disease affecting pigs, with mortality rates a primary focus as they can reach up to 100%. The widespread and colossal economic losses from ASF have impacts on the development of animal husbandry ...
