Mast cells and factor XIIIa+ dendrocytes in actinic cheilitis and lip squamous cell carcinoma [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Oral Research
There is an interaction between dendrocytes and mast cells in the skin. However, in elastosis-related diseases such as actinic cheilitis (AC) and lower lip squamous cell carcinoma (LLSCC), this interaction remains unknown. We investigated the presence of

Expression Profiles of GILZ and SGK-1 in Potentially Malignant and Malignant Human Oral Lesions

open access: yesFrontiers in Oral Health, 2021
Glucocorticoid-induced leucine zipper and serum-glucocorticoid-regulated kinase-1 (SGK-1) are major glucocorticoid-inducible proteins. Recent studies indicate the local production of cortisol in oral mucosa, which can impact the tissue generation of ...

Anti-cytokeratin 7: a positive marker for epithelial dysplasia in flat bowel mucosa

open access: yesBiomolecules & Biomedicine, 2004
The aim of this paper is to establish by immunohistochemistry the expression of keratin 7 in inflammatory-regenerative flat bowel mucosa and in different grades of epithelial dysplasia regarding the sub-units expressed in normal and carcinomatous ...

Epithelial dysplasia in Caroli's disease. [PDF]

open access: yesGut, 1989
We report a young patient with a solitary intrahepatic cyst without demonstrable connection with the biliary tree. The operative appearances suggested hydatid disease but histological examination of the resected cyst showed that it was the result of Caroli's disease already complicated by severe dysplasia.

Epithelial Dysplasia in Cancerous and Noncancerous Esophagi

open access: yesThe Tohoku Journal of Experimental Medicine, 1978
Subserial examinations of the noncancerous esophagus from 86 autopsy materials (male 47, female 39) in Kagoshima Prefecture revealed epithelial dysplasia in 54 instances (63%); 32 males (68%) and 22 females (57%). Higher grades of dysplasia were shown in 17 males (36%) and 3 females (8%).
