Molecular characterization and T and B cell epitopes prediction of Mycoplasma synoviae 53 strain VlhA hemagglutinin

open access: yesGenetics and Molecular Biology, 2007
Mycoplasma sinoviae is a major pathogen of poultry causing synovitis and respiratory infection. M. synoviae hemagglutinin (VlhA) is a lipoprotein encoded by related multigene families that appear to have arisen by horizontal gene transfer.

AsEP: Benchmarking Deep Learning Methods for Antibody-specific Epitope Prediction [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Epitope identification is vital for antibody design yet challenging due to the inherent variability in antibodies. While many deep learning methods have been developed for general protein binding site prediction tasks, whether they work for epitope prediction remains an understudied research question.

Modifications in FLAP's second cytosolic loop influence 5‐LOX interaction, inhibitor binding, and leukotriene formation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The enzyme 5‐lipoxygenase (5‐LOX) catalyzes the first step in the biosynthesis of leukotrienes (LTs) involved in inflammatory pathophysiology. After cellular stimulation, 5‐LOX translocates to the nucleus, interacting with the 5‐LOX‐activating protein (FLAP) to form LTA4 from arachidonic acid (AA).

epiArt: a graphical HLA eplet amino acid repertoire translation reveals the need for an epitope driven revision of allele group nomenclature

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics
IntroductionThe immune response after transplantation depends on recipient/donor HLA allele mismatches. To enhance our understanding of the relations of HLA alleles in terms of amino-acid polymorphisms and shared epitopes, we assessed pairwise sequence ...

Flow‐based immunomagnetic enrichment of circulating tumor cells from diagnostic leukapheresis product

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The number of circulating tumor cells obtained from prostate cancer patients was increased approximately 5‐fold compared to regular CellSearch when processing 2 mL diagnostic leukapheresis material aliquots and increased by 44‐fold when processing 20 mL DLA aliquots using the flow enrichment target capture Halbach‐array.

Comprehensive Overview of Broadly Neutralizing Antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 Variants

open access: yesViruses
Currently, SARS-CoV-2 has evolved into various variants, including the numerous highly mutated Omicron sub-lineages, significantly increasing immune evasion ability. The development raises concerns about the possibly diminished effectiveness of available

Diverse Epitope Specificity, Immunodominance Hierarchy, and Functional Avidity of Effector CD4 T Cells Established During Priming Is Maintained in Lung After Influenza A Virus Infection

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2018
One of the major contributions to protective immunity to influenza viruses that is provided by virus-specific CD4 T cells is delivery of effector function to the infected lung.
