Epoxidation of styrene with NaOCl and catalyzed by nickel(II) complexes

open access: yes, 1999
Epoxidation of styrene was catalyzed by some nickel(II) complexes, with NaOCl as the oxygen donor. The catalyst Ni(PA)(2). 2H(2)O has been found to be stable for the epoxidation of styrene.

Co2+-exchanged SAPO-5 and SAPO-34 as efficient heterogeneous catalysts for aerobic epoxidation of alkenes

open access: yes, 2013
Co-SAPO-5 and Co-SAPO-34 were prepared by a simple ion-exchange route and firstly applied in the aerobic epoxidation of alkenes. Both catalysts exhibited high activities in the epoxidation of alkenes with air to achieve 92.0-91.9 mol% conversion with the

Biobased Epoxidized Castor Oil Covalent Adaptable Networks Adhesives Reinforced with Recycled Carbon Fibers

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
It is reported the design of biobased sustainable, smart, and functional adhesives achieved dispersing recycled carbon fibers into biobased epoxy monomer. ABSTRACT The development of sustainable, smart, and functional adhesives is crucial in advancing environmentally friendly materials.

Optimization of the epoxidation of methyl ester of palm fatty acid distillate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Methyl ester of palm fatty acid distillate (PFAD-ME) can be used for producing epoxide compounds. PFADME consists of 39.3% of oleic acid (C18:1) and has an iodine value of 49.2 g I2/100 g. It can be converted to a low oxirane content epoxide which can be

Pure Gaussian Apodisation Reduces Integral Crosstalk Sensitivity in Quantitative NMR

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Chemistry, EarlyView.
Exponential apodisation redistributes peak area away from its centre, which increases crosstalk with neighbouring peaks and reduces integral trueness when integrating between defined regions. A pure Gaussian apodisation limits wing growth: Crosstalk between peaks is not worsened, and trueness is conserved during integration.

Asymmetric epoxidation catalyzed by chiral ketones

open access: yes, 2011
Chiral ketones have been developed as efficient catalysts for asymmetric alkene epoxidation in the past decades. The development of different classes of chiral ketones for asymmetric epoxidation of unfunctionalized alkenes will be discussed. In addition,

Synthesis of Carboxyl Terminated Polymyrcene by Anionic Polymerization Using CO2 as a Terminating Agent

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, EarlyView.
The anionic polymerization of myrcene and termination with carbon dioxide to produce carboxyl terminated chains were investigated. The highest degree of functionalization was obtained in the batch reactor by headspace addition of the CO2 to the unstirred reactor at −78°C.

Highly diastereo- and enantio-selective epoxidation of secondary allylic alcohols catalyzed by styrene monooxygenase

open access: yes, 2011
Enantiomerically enriched glycidol derivatives with contiguous stereogenic centers were obtained in a highly diastereo- and enantio-selective epoxidation catalyzed with the styrene monooxygenase ...
