EPR Spin Trapping of Oxygen Radicals in Plants: A Methodological Overview

Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 2005
Abstract: We present a brief account of the difficulties involved in detection of oxygen free radicals in plants and give a rationale for using the EPR spin trapping technique in such studies. Comparative analysis of characteristics of different spin traps is given, having in mind their suitability in trapping oxygen‐centered free radicals.

Detection and characterisation of radicals in biological materials using EPR methodology

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - General Subjects, 2014
Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy (also known as electron spin resonance, ESR, spectroscopy) is widely considered to be the "gold standard" for the detection and characterisation of radicals in biological systems. The article reviews the major positive and negative aspects of EPR spectroscopy and discusses how this technique and ...

A Q-Band Pulse EPR/ENDOR Spectrometer and the Implementation of Advanced One- and Two-Dimensional Pulse EPR Methodology

Journal of Magnetic Resonance, 2001
A versatile high-power pulse Q-band EPR spectrometer operating at 34.5--35.5 GHz and in a temperature range of 4--300 K is described. The spectrometer allows one to perform one- and two-dimensional multifrequency pulse EPR and pulse ENDOR experiments, as well as continuous wave experiments.

Study on the Application of CDAG Methodology in EPR Nuclear Power Plant

Volume 7: Fuel Cycle, Decontamination and Decommissioning, Radiation Protection, Shielding, and Waste Management; Mitigation Strategies for Beyond Design Basis Events, 2017
The Westinghouse Owners Group Core Damage Assessment Guidance (CDAG), which has been authorized by the NRC staffs, is now used by licensee emergency response organization staff for estimating the extent of core damage that may have occurred during an accident at a Westinghouse nuclear power plant.

A New Methodology for the Provenance of Marble Based on EPR Spectroscopy

Archaeometry, 2002
Fifteen years of research in investigating the characteristics of the EPR spectra of different types of white marble from several quarries in the Eastern Mediterranean has produced an accumulation of a large number of data, and much experience. Statistical treatment of these EPR data (statistical distributions and parameter correlations), has led to ...

Load Combination Reduction Methodology for the US EPR™ Standard Nuclear Power Plant

Volume 8: Seismic Engineering, 2012
The Safety-Related structures of the U.S. EPR™ Standard Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) predominantly consist of reinforced concrete shear walls and slabs; thus they are typically modeled using shell finite elements and analyzed and designed for a large number of applicable load combinations.

Dielectric Resonator-Based Flow and Stopped-Flow EPR with Rapid Field Scanning: A Methodology for Increasing Kinetic Information

Journal of Magnetic Resonance, 1999
We report methodology which combines recently developed dielectric resonator-based, rapid-mix, stopped-flow EPR (appropriate for small, aqueous, lossy samples) with rapid scanning of the external (Zeeman) magnetic field where the scanning is preprogrammed to occur at selected times after the start of flow.
