Predictive models successfully screen nanoparticles for toxicity and cellular uptake. Yet, complex biological dynamics and sparse, nonstandardized data limit their accuracy. The field urgently needs integrated artificial intelligence/machine learning, systems biology, and open‐access data protocols to bridge the gap between materials science and safe ...

Methodology development of high sensitivity pulsed EPR and DNP
Dynamic nuclear polarisation (DNP) is a process that transfers electron spin polarisation to nuclei and is a technique that has been widely used to improve nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) sensitivity. This thesis presents the implementation of a DNP extension to a home-built high power pulsed electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectrometer, HiPER ...

Proteins are long chains of peptide-bond linked amino acids, which have the fascinating ability to fold into a huge variety of three-dimensional shapes. To describe peptide sequences that have particularly large conformational flexibility, the umbrella terms intrinsically disordered domains (IDDs), resp. proteins (IDPs) have emerged.

As compared to normal PBN, about fifty percent increase of electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spin trapping sensitivity has been gained by using a new 100% 15N-enriched spin trap, C-phenyl N-tert-butyl[15N]nitrone (PBN-15N). PBN-15N has been prepared by a convenient four-step route using ammonium-15N chloride as the starting material. This synthetic

Multiple States of Nitrile Hydratase from Rhodococcus equi TG328-2: Structural and Mechanistic Insights from Electron Paramagnetic Resonance and Density Functional Theory Studies [PDF]
Iron-type nitrile hydratases (NHases) contain an Fe(III) ion coordinated in a characteristic “claw setting” by an axial cysteine thiolate, two equatorial peptide nitrogens, the sulfur atoms of equatorial cysteine-sulfenic and cysteine-sulfinic acids, and

ABSTRACT Silver‐doped cerium oxide nanoparticles (Ag/CeO2 NPs) were synthesized using Ricinus communis seed extract as a bio‐derived fuel in a solution combustion method. The combustion reaction, carried out at 450°C with AgNO3 and (NH4)2[Ce (NO3)6] as metal precursors, produced CeO2 and Ag/CeO2 NPs.
