Cross‐Prudence and Optimal Prevention
ABSTRACT In this paper, we study optimal prevention in the presence of a correlated nonfinancial background risk. Under positive correlation, cross‐prudence in the nonfinancial attribute reduces optimal prevention. We establish this result in the most direct extension of the standard prevention problem with binary marginal distributions and show that ...

On the zeros of Epstein's zeta function [PDF]
Let Q(x, y) = ax2 + bxy + cy2 be a positive definite quadratic form with discriminant d = b2 – 4ac. The Epstein zeta function associated with Q is given bywhere Σ′ means the sum is over all pairs (x, y) of integers not both zero, and as usual, s = σ + it.

Longevity, Health, and Housing Risk Management in Retirement
ABSTRACT Annuities, long‐term care insurance, and reverse mortgages remain puzzlingly unpopular to manage post‐retirement longevity, health, and housing price risks. We use a flexible life‐cycle model structurally estimated with a unique stated‐preference survey experiment of Canadian households to understand why. Key factors include high risk aversion,

On the values of the Epstein zeta function [PDF]
Let ζ(s) = σn-s(Res >1) denote the Riemann zeta function; then, as is well known,, whereBmdenotes themth Bernoulli number, In this paper we investigate the possibility of similar evaluations of the Epstein zeta function ζq(s) at the rational integerss = k> 2.

Integral Transforms in Number Theory
Integral transforms play a fundamental role in science and engineering. Above all, the Fourier transform is the most vital, which has some specifications—Laplace transform, Mellin transform, etc., with their inverse transforms. In this paper, we restrict

Fermions, Skyrmions and the 3-sphere [PDF]
This paper investigates a background charge one Skyrme field chirally coupled to light fermions on the 3-sphere. The Dirac equation for the system commutes with a generalized angular momentum or grand spin.

Algebraic solution and thermodynamic properties of graphene in the presence of minimal length
Graphene is a zero-gap semiconductor, where the electrons propagating inside are described by the ultrarelativistic Dirac equation normally reserved for very high energy massless particles.

Solving Stochastic Climate‐Economy Models: A Deep Least‐Squares Monte Carlo Approach
ABSTRACT Stochastic versions of recursive integrated climate‐economy assessment models are essential for studying and quantifying policy decisions under uncertainty. However, as the number of state variables and stochastic shocks increases, solving these models via deterministic grid‐based dynamic programming (e.g., value‐function iteration/projection ...

On the zeros of Epstein zeta functions [PDF]
Abstract We investigate the zeros of Epstein zeta functions associated with a positive definite quadratic form with rational coefficients. Davenport and Heilbronn, and also Voronin, proved the existence of zeros of Epstein zeta functions off the critical line when the class number of the quadratic form is bigger than 1.

A Discrete Limit Theorem for a Collection of Epstein Zeta-Functions
In this paper, the discrete limit theorem of Bohr-Jessen type with an explicitly given limit measure for a collection of Epstein zeta-functions is given. An extra condition is required to specify the form of the limit measure.
