Factor screening experiments using fractional factorial split plot designs and regression analysis in developing a top-down nanomanufacturing system for recycling of welding rod residuals

open access: yesProduction and Manufacturing Research: An Open Access Journal, 2017
A promising technology for integration of top-down nanomanufacturing is equal channel angular pressing, a process transforming metallic materials into nanostructured or ultra-fine grained materials with significantly enhanced performance characteristics.

Twin-induced plasticity of an ECAP-processed TWIP steel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The TWIP steels show high strain hardening rates with high ductility which results in high ultimate tensile strength. This makes their processing by equal channel angular pressing very difficult.

Simulation study on the material stress distribution respect to different angle of ECAP [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
This research study focused on the influence of channel angle towards stress distribution of material aluminium alloy 5083. The size of the grain is related to the mechanical properties of material.

Effect of equal channel angular pressing on strain deformation behavior of ultrafine grained during low temperature superplasticity of AA5083

open access: yesResults in Engineering
AA5083 with ultrafine grain structure was produced through equal channel angular pressing using different levels of ECAP tensions, underwent a series of tensile tests. The superplasticity temperature 573 K at low temperatures.

Characterization Of An Equal Channel Angular Pressed Al-Zn-In Alloy

open access: yesArchives of Metallurgy and Materials, 2015
Equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) is a technique that creates a high accumulated strain in metals and results in ultrafine-grained structure. In this study, Al-5Zn-0.02In was processed by ECAP at a room temperature using route Bc through an ECAP die (

Shape memory effect of NiTi alloy processed by equal-channel angular pressing followed by post deformation annealing

open access: yes, 2014
Processing by Equal-Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP) is generally considered superior to most other SPD techniques because it uses relatively large bulk samples.

Strengthening of AA5754 aluminum alloy by DRECE process followed by annealing response investigation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
In this study, a dual rolls equal channel extrusion (DRECE) process has been applied for improving the mechanical properties of the 5754 alloy. Supplementary experiments involving metallography, electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD), and XRD tests ...

Dynamic Precipitation during High‐Pressure Torsion of a Magnesium–Manganese Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 4, 18 February 2026.
An ultrafine‐grained alloy is produced by high‐pressure torsion of solutionized Mg–1.35 wt% Mn. Precipitation of nanometer‐scale Mn particles during deformation provides pinning sites. This prevents the formation of a bimodal grain structure and results in a finer grain size than for pure Mg.

Upper-Bound Analysis for Equal Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP) with an Intersecting Channel Angle of 120°

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2021
The exact calculations of the stress and strain distributions based on the controlling equations for a forming process with large deformation are often difficult. To circumvent such difficulties, some analytical methods such upper-bound analysis and slip-
