Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Stability boundary characterization of nonlinear autonomous dynamical systems in the presence of a type-zero saddle-node equilibrium point

open access: yesTrends in Computational and Applied Mathematics, 2010
. Under the assumption that all equilibrium points are hyperbolic, the stability boundary of nonlinear autonomous dynamical systems is characterized as the union of the stable manifolds of equilibrium points on the stability boundary.

Restricted three-body problem in effective-field-theory models of gravity

open access: yes, 2014
One of the outstanding problems of classical celestial mechanics was the restricted 3-body prob- lem, in which a planetoid of small mass is subject to the Newtonian attraction of two celestial bodies of large mass, as it occurs, for example, in the sun ...

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Multiple Attractors for a Competitive System of Rational Difference Equations in the Plane

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2011
We investigate global dynamics of the following systems of difference equations xn+1=β1xn/(B1xn+yn), yn+1=(α2+γ2yn)/(A2+xn), n=0,1,2,…, where the parameters β1, B1,

On an SEIR Epidemic Model with Vaccination of Newborns and Periodic Impulsive Vaccination with Eventual On-Line Adapted Vaccination Strategies to the Varying Levels of the Susceptible Subpopulation

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
This paper investigates a susceptible-exposed-infectious-recovered (SEIR) epidemic model with demography under two vaccination effort strategies. Firstly, the model is investigated under vaccination of newborns, which is fact in a direct action on the ...

On generalized equilibrium points

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2004
Let \(X=X_{1}\times X_{2}\times\cdots\times X_{n}\) be a product of Euclidean spaces and \(\varphi:X\times X\rightarrow\mathbb{R}\) be a function. This paper introduces the notion of \(\varepsilon\)-equilibrium point of \(f\), where \(\varepsilon=(\varepsilon_{1},\varepsilon_{2},\ldots\varepsilon_{n} )\in\mathbb{R}^{n}\), as follows: \(x=(x_{1},x_{2 ...

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Existence and Linear Stability of Equilibrium Points in the Robe’s Restricted Three-Body Problem with Oblateness

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2012
This paper investigates the positions and linear stability of an infinitesimal body around the equilibrium points in the framework of the Robe’s circular restricted three-body problem, with assumptions that the hydrostatic equilibrium figure of the first
