Saddle Points Stability in the Replica Approach Off Equilibrium

open access: yes, 1994
We study the replica free energy surface for a spin glass model near the glassy temperature. In this model the simplicity of the equilibrium solution hides non trivial metastable saddle points. By means of the stability analysis performed for one and two

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Linear Stability of Triangular Equilibrium Points in the Generalized Photogravitational Restricted Three Body Problem with Poynting-Robertson Drag

open access: yes, 2006
In this paper we have examined the linear stability of triangular equilibrium points in the generalised photogravitational restricted three body problem with Poynting-Robertson drag.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Functional Education as a Nexus between Agricultural and Industrial Revolution: An Epidemiological Modeling Approach

open access: yesUniciencia, 2023
Education has been regarded as a major route to economic prosperity. Its potentials, if properly exploited, have the tendency to revolutionize a nation’s productivity, income, and development. [Objetive] In this work, a mathematical model was formulated,

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Numerical analysis of Bazykin–Berezovskaya model

open access: yesJournal of Taibah University for Science, 2023
In this manuscript, a Bazykin–Berezovskaya model with diffusion by strong Allee effects is studied. Neumann boundary conditions are used to see the positive solution of a diffusion system.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

On generalized equilibrium points

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2004
Let \(X=X_{1}\times X_{2}\times\cdots\times X_{n}\) be a product of Euclidean spaces and \(\varphi:X\times X\rightarrow\mathbb{R}\) be a function. This paper introduces the notion of \(\varepsilon\)-equilibrium point of \(f\), where \(\varepsilon=(\varepsilon_{1},\varepsilon_{2},\ldots\varepsilon_{n} )\in\mathbb{R}^{n}\), as follows: \(x=(x_{1},x_{2 ...
