Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

On linear equivalence and Phelps codes. Addendum

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematics of Communications, 2011
A new class of perfect 1-error correcting binary codes, so called RRH-codes, are identified, and it is shown that every such code is linearly equivalent to a perfect code obtainable by the Phelps construction.

Source code optimization using equivalent mutants [PDF]

open access: yesInformation and Software Technology, 2018
A mutant is a program obtained by syntactically modifying a program's source code; an equivalent mutant is a mutant, which is functionally equivalent to the original program. Mutants are primarily used in \emph{mutation testing}, and when deriving a test suite, obtaining an equivalent mutant is considered to be highly negative, although these ...

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Spreading Code Design for a MC-CDMA Based GNSS Pilot Signal

open access: yes, 2010
MC-CDMA can represent an alternative to classical DS-CDMA for the design of GNSS ranging signals. A first requirement MC-CDMA signals must fulfill is that their generation on a satellite payload be feasible.

YlmG1 is localized exclusively to the chloroplast envelope membrane and is involved in preprotein translocation in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cytosolically synthesized chloroplast preproteins are translocated across the outer and inner envelope membranes through translocons called TOC and TIC, respectively. In green algae and plants, the TIC core is composed of essential membrane proteins, Tic12, Tic20, and Tic214.

Computer-based analysis of spatial frames according to second order theory

open access: yesGrađevinar, 2016
The analysis of spatial frames formed of beam elements according to the second order theory is presented in the paper. The stiffness matrix and equivalent load vector elements are derived from the exact solution of the corresponding differential ...

Orthogonality for Quantum Latin Isometry Squares [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Proceedings in Theoretical Computer Science, 2019
Goyeneche et al recently proposed a notion of orthogonality for quantum Latin squares, and showed that orthogonal quantum Latin squares yield quantum codes.

The Trellis Complexity of Equivalent Binary [17, 9] Quadratic Residue Codes is Five [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
[[abstract]]It is known that equivalent linear block codes may have different minimal trellis structures. The minimum complexity among all minimal trellis structures of equivalent codes is defined as the trellis complexity of the class of equivalent ...
