Asymptotic symmetries and subleading soft photon theorem in effective field theories

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
In [1, 2] it was shown that the subleading soft photon theorem in tree level amplitudes in massless QED is equivalent to a new class of symmetries of the theory parameterized by a vector field on the celestial sphere.

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

An equivalent statement of the Riemann Hypothesis using the Abel-Plana Formula

open access: yes, 2023
This paper shows how the Abel-Plana expression for the Riemann zeta function can be transformed into an equation with a sum of complex logarithms of non-trivial zeta zeros. This equation, in case of 𝞯(s)=0, can only be valid for non-trivial zeta-zeros. An equivalent statement of the Riemann hypothesis has been formulated and an attempt of proof added.

Suppression of lung adenocarcinoma migration through organelle alkalization by human lactoferrin – albumin fusion

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This paper reveals how human lactoferrin–albumin fusion (hLF‐HSA) potently suppresses lung adenocarcinoma cell migration. hLF‐HSA upregulates NHE7, leading to Golgi alkalization, disruption of the Golgi secretome, downregulation of MMP1, and reversal of EMT. These findings suggest a novel Golgi‐targeting strategy to suppress cancer cell migration.

A problem with nonlocal integral condition of the second kind for one-dimensional hyperbolic equation

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2016
In this paper, we consider a problem for a one-dimensional hyperbolic equation with nonlocal integral condition of the second kind. Uniqueness and existence of a generalized solution are proved. In order to prove this statement we suggest a new approach.

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

Fractional Aspects of the Erdős-Faber-Lovász Conjecture

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae Graph Theory, 2015
The Erdős-Faber-Lovász conjecture is the statement that every graph that is the union of n cliques of size n intersecting pairwise in at most one vertex has chromatic number n.

The digital conception of sigma - delta D/A converter implemented into FPGA

open access: yesCommunications, 2000
D/A converters are technical means which allow mutual communication between discrete and analog systems. Then base function is accurately comprehended in the statement "D/A converters create bridge between digital and analog world".

Sudden anaerobization in Amphibacillus xylanus increases intracellular labile ferrous iron and inhibits cell growth

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...

One size does not fit all: An in vitro evaluation of the effects of bezafibrate and medroxyprogesterone acetate on human SH‐SY5Y and U‐87 MG cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Drugs previously repurposed to target blood cancers reduced neuroblastoma and glioblastoma cell growth and viability. However, their levels of anticancer activity were different and their clinical application may be problematic due to side effects at effective doses.
