Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

A REEXAMINATION OF SOUTH KOREA¡¯S AGGREGATE IMPORT DEMAND FUNCTION: THE BOUNDS TEST ANALYSIS [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper uses a robust estimation method referred to as the unrestricted error correction model - the bounds test analysis to re-analyze the long-term relationships between the demand for imports and it¡¯s determinants for South Korea over the period ...

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

An optimal finite-dimensional modeling in heat conduction and diffusion equations with partially known eigenstructure

open access: yes, 2003
An optimal finite-dimensional modeling technique is presented for a standard class of distributed parameter systems for heat and diffusion equations.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Sufficient Conditions for Error Bounds and Applications

open access: yes, 2004
Our aim in this paper is to present sufficient conditions for error bounds in terms of Fréchet and limiting Fréchet subdifferentials in general Banach spaces. This allows us to develop sufficient conditions in terms of the approximate subdifferential for

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Error bounds for asymptotic solutions of differential equations. 2. The general case

open access: yes, 1966
The results of the preceding paper are extended to the general system of n first-order differential equations having an irregular singularity of arbitrary rank at infinity.
