Robust Differential Received Signal Strength Based Localization With Model Parameter Errors

IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2018
In this letter, we address the differential received signal strength based problem with model parameter errors. To deal with the model parameter errors, we adopt the robust weighted least squares criterion, leading to a minimax optimization problem.

Blind Received Signal Strength Difference Based Source Localization With System Parameter Errors

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2014
The problem of passive source localization has been extensively studied due to its many applications in signal processing and wireless communications. Signal strength-based localization methods have the advantages of low cost and simple implementation.

Calculated Distance Error Improvement by Using Received Signal Power Mask in Relay Type GPS

2019 IEEE 90th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2019-Fall), 2019
In order to improve calculated distance errors of GPS receivers in urban areas, a relay type GPS had previously been proposed. In relay type GPS, target GPS receivers receiving can calculate their positions by assists of the many mobile terminals around them which calculate their own positions by GPS calculation and transmit them via the same GPS ...

Characterization of Distance Error with Received Signal Strength Ranging

2010 IEEE Wireless Communication and Networking Conference, 2010
Location aware applications benefit from accurate position information. The position uncertainty can be reduced through cooperative localization in distributed systems with accurate point-to-point ranging. Received signal strength (RSS) measurement enables low cost, low complexity distance estimation.

Receiver structures and error rate performance for signals with unknown frequency

Proceedings of 8th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications - PIMRC '97, 2002
Receiver structures for an optimal noncoherent receiver when a transmitted signal experiences a random frequency shift are derived. Error rate performance, obtained by simulation, is then developed and compared with the standard noncoherent correlator.
