Design of radar signals and receivers subject to implementation errors
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 1970The problem of designing finite-pulse-train radar signals and receivers to maximize the detectability of targets in the presence of clutter has recently been solved. In practice, the performance of these optimum signal-receiver pairs is often degraded seriously by implementation errors. The purpose of this paper is to present an iterative procedure for

Error analysis of GPS signals from USRP using GPS receivers
2014 IEEE/ION Position, Location and Navigation Symposium - PLANS 2014, 2014In this paper the USRP (Universal Software Radio Peripheral) will be explored to characterize GPS receivers. The main receiver will be the Ublox receiver. The errors added to the recorded signals, by the USRP, will also be quantified and analyzed in order to observe any trends.

Methods for minimizing error in location estimation using received signal strength
2018 26th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2018A set of methods for improving accuracy in RSS (Received Signal Strength) based location estimation is presented. Considering unknown transmitter power, PDOA (Power Difference of Arrival) technique is utilized together with ML (Maximum Likelihood) algorithm in order to predict the transmitter location.

2005 IEEE 16th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2006
The paper deals with space-time-coded transmissions in the presence of channel estimation errors. A simple transmission model is described which gives insight into the basic relations between space-time block coding schemes and the general concept of spreading. On the basis of this model, diagonal algebraic space-time (DAST) block codes are taken as an

An Error Estimation Method for Stepped Frequency Chirp Sar Signal Based on Received Echoes
IGARSS 2019 - 2019 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2019To reconstruct the spectrum of a wide band signal by stepped-frequency chirp signals, the mismatch between sub-band signals should be compensated. In this paper, a novel method is proposed to estimate the phase error between adjacent sub-band signals based on the overlapped spectra.

Bit error rate of MRC receiver for BPSK signals in the presence of G fading
2011 19thTelecommunications Forum (TELFOR) Proceedings of Papers, 2011The performances of Maximal Ratio Combining (MRC) receivers in the presence of G fading over L independent diversity reception paths are presented in this paper. Coherent Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK) modulation is applied. For the bit error rate (BER) determination, the approach with moment generating function (MGF) and alternative representation ...

AbstractIn this paper, the impact of the transmitter/receiver filtering (in tandem with multipath propagation) on the phase‐shift of the minimum shift keying (MSK) signal transmitted over a mobile radio channel with small time dispersion has been modeled in order to analytically investigate the validity of the closed‐form general expression for the ...

Performance of MIMO MMSE Receiver with Signal Space Diversity Under Channel Estimation Errors
2019 27th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2019In this work, signal space diversity (SSD) is integrated into a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) minimum mean-square error (MMSE) receiver system. Differing from previous many related studies, coordinate interleaving (CI) process is applied in the spatial domain.

Modelling ranging error of indoor TOA-based position system based on receive signal strength
International Journal of Sensor Networks, 2013For Time of Arrival TOA based indoor position system, the localisation accuracy is significantly affected by the ranging error caused by the severe multipath condition. This paper presents a receive signal strength index RSSI based indoor TOA ranging error model, which can be used to estimate the interval of ranging error. In this model, TOA is divided
