Investigating Anthropogenic and Social Influences on Diet of Semi‐Urban Vervet Monkeys Using DNA Metabarcoding

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 2, February 2026.
We used eDNA metabarcoding of faecal samples to quantify the dietary composition of two vervet monkey populations in a semi‐urban environment in South Africa over a 4‐month period, and compared these results with visual observations. We found that both methods yielded similar results, but eDNA metabarcoding revealed a greater diversity of consumed taxa.

Chemical constituents from root barks of Erythrina mildbraedii and stem barks of Erythrina addisoniae

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Ethiopia, 2014
The β-D-galactopyranoside of the tetracosanoic acid (1) was isolated from the stem barks of Erythrina addisoniae along with known tetracosanoic acid (2), α-sophoradiol (3), stigmasterol (4), warangalone (5), 3-Oβ-D-glucopyranoside of β-sitosterol (6) and

AuNP-Agglomerated monoliths in pipette tips for lectin affinity extraction of glycoproteins [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
• To in situ fabricate ethylene dimethacrylate porous polymer monoliths within the confines of a commercial 20 μL polypropylene pipette tips. • To enhance the monolith surface area by immobilising AuNPs and then functionalise the AuNPs with ECL lectin

Optimisation of the enzyme-linked lectin assay for enhanced glycoprotein and glycoconjugate analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Lectin’s are proteins capable of recognising and binding to specific oligosaccharide tructures found on glycoproteins and other biomoloecules. As such they have found tility for glycoanalytical applications.

Separation Methods Affect Glycan Patterns in Extracellular Vesicle Preparations From Canine Osteoblasts and Osteosarcoma Cells

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Biology, Volume 5, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are nanosized, membrane‐enclosed particles released by cells, facilitating intercellular communication via the transfer of bioactive molecules from producing to recipient cells. EVs are involved in several physiological and pathological processes, including cancer progression.

Evaluation of scarification and in vitro culture methods for callus production in the genus Erythrina

open access: yesActa Scientiarum: Biological Sciences
The genus Erythrina (Fabaceae) has been researched due to its tetracyclic alkaloids that have pharmacological properties. Species of Erythrina have the potential to act on the central nervous system, presenting anxiolytic and anticonvulsant properties ...

Soil Bacterial Diversity and Productivity of Coffee - Shade Tree Agro-ecosystems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Coffee productions should have environmental values such as providing high soil microbial diversity while producinghigh yield. To examine that purposes, two experimental plots were constucted at benchmark site of Conservationand Sustainable Management of

A review of non‐native scale insects (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Coccoidea) of Australia and the challenges in maintaining current and accurate pest lists

open access: yesAustral Entomology, Volume 65, Issue 1, February 2026.
Abstract Over 870 species of scale insects, also called coccoids (infraorder Coccomorpha), have been recorded from Australia. Here, we systematically review literature, databases and collections to provide a revised assessment of non‐native species to Australia, for which we confirm those species that are introduced and extant in Australia (including ...
