Adenocarcinoma of esophagogastric junction.
To date, there has been a dramatic increase in the incidence of adenocarcinomas of the esophagogastric junction (AEG) worldwide. The classification of AEG, defined by Siewert and Stein, was approved at the second International Gastric Cancer Congress in Munich in April 1997.

Current status and perspectives of esophageal cancer: a comprehensive review
Abstract Esophageal cancer (EC) continues to be a significant global health concern, with two main subtypes: esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and esophageal adenocarcinoma. Prevention and changes in etiology, improvements in early detection, and refinements in the treatment have led to remarkable progress in the outcomes of EC patients in the past ...

Tunnel junction as a noise probe [PDF]
The paper investigates theoretically effects of noise on low-bias parts of $IV$ curves of tunnel junctions. The analysis starts from the effect of shot noise from an additional (noise) junction on the Coulomb blockaded Josephson junction in high-impedance environment. Asymmetry of shot noise characterized by its odd moments results in asymmetry of the $

Molecular subtyping and precision therapy for esophageal cancer
The molecular typing of esophageal cancer based on genome, transcriptome, proteome, and multi‐omics revealed various molecular features and provided potential targets for the precision therapy. Recent trials have shown that immunotherapy or molecular targeted therapy plus chemoradiotherapy can improve overall survival and progression‐free survival in ...

ABSTRACT Background The FLOT 4‐AIO trial established the docetaxel‐based regimen's superiority over epirubicin‐based triplet therapy in terms of survival rates and acceptable toxicity for locally advanced resectable gastric (LARGC). Yet, fewer than half of the patients achieved completion of eight prescribed FLOT cycles.

Impact of laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy on esophageal physiology
Introduction. Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) is a popular weight loss surgery technique, but the impact on esophageal physiology and esophagogastric junction is still debatable.

In this study we utilized proteomic profiling to investigate mechanisms linked to the cancer‐inhibitory effect of cranberry proanthocyanidins (CPACs) on reflux‐induced esophageal adenocarcinoma in a rat model. The results indicate that CPAC inhibits cancer through targeting multiple hallmarks of cancer known to be dysregulated in progression to ...

Structure and Strength of Dislocation Junctions: An Atomic Level Analysis [PDF]
The quasicontinuum method is used to simulate three-dimensional Lomer-Cottrell junctions both in the absence and in the presence of an applied stress. The simulations show that this type of junction is destroyed by an unzipping mechanism in which the dislocations that form the junction are gradually pulled apart along the junction segment.

Pushing limits of photovoltaics and photodetection using radial junction nanowire devices [PDF]
Nanowire devices have long been proposed as an efficient alternative to their planar counterparts for different optoelectronic applications. Unfortunately, challenges related to the growth and characterization of doping and p-n junction formation in nanowire devices (along axial or radial axis) have significantly impeded their development. The problems
