Isolation and characterization of EST-SSRs in the Ramie

open access: yesAfrican Journal of Microbiology Research, 2011
In order to develop the more EST-SSRs, 320 ESTs of ramie from NCBI were analyzed. 76 SSR primer-pairs developed from 320 ESTs were tested among 62 ramie individuals, and 27 SSR loci were polymorphic. Among the 27 primers, the numbers of alleles per locus ranged from two to five, in which 19 primers amplify two alleles, seven primers amplify three ...

A White Campion (Silene latifolia) floral expressed sequence tag (EST) library: annotation, EST-SSR characterization, transferability, and utility for comparative mapping

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2009
Background Expressed sequence tag (EST) databases represent a valuable resource for the identification of genes in organisms with uncharacterized genomes and for development of molecular markers. One class of markers derived from EST sequences are simple

Methodology of the French National Study “Context of Sexualities in France” (CSF‐2023)

open access: yesPerspectives on Sexual and Reproductive Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction The 2023 national survey “Context of Sexualities in France” (CSF‐2023) explores sexuality and sexual health in France. Methods Conducted between November 2022 and December 2023, CSF‐2023 is a cross‐sectional probability survey involving 21,259 respondents aged 15–89 in continental France.

Genetic diversity of cultivated accessions and wild species of rubber tree using EST‑SSR markers

open access: yesPesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira, 2012
The objective of this work was to evaluate the efficiency of EST‑SSR markers in the assessment of the genetic diversity of rubber tree genotypes (Hevea brasiliensis) and to verify the transferability of these markers for wild species of Hevea. Forty‑five

Insights Into the Origin and Local Adaptation Evolution of the Cultivated Sesame With Telomere‐to‐Telomere High‐Quality Genome

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 10, Page 5372-5391, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Sesame (Sesamum indicum L., 2n = 26) is one of the oldest oilseed crops and is often called the ‘queen of oilseeds’ due to its high content of unsaturated fatty acids and natural antioxidants. Despite its long history, the origin and global spread of cultivated sesame remain unresolved.

Comparative in silicoanalysis of EST-SSRs in angiosperm and gymnosperm tree genera [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology, 2014
Simple Sequence Repeats (SSRs) derived from Expressed Sequence Tags (ESTs) belong to the expressed fraction of the genome and are important for gene regulation, recombination, DNA replication, cell cycle and mismatch repair. Here, we present a comparative analysis of the SSR motif distribution in the 5'UTR, ORF and 3'UTR fractions of ESTs across ...

Comparison of genomic SSR and EST-SSR markers for estimating genetic diversity in cucumber

open access: yes, 2011
Thirteen genomic microsatellite (gSSR) and sixteen expressed sequence tag (EST)-SSR (eSSR) markers were compared to estimate genetic diversity among 29 cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) accessions.

An EST-SSR Linkage Map of Raphanus sativus and Comparative Genomics of the Brassicaceae [PDF]

open access: yesDNA Research, 2011
Raphanus sativus (2n = 2x = 18) is a widely cultivated member of the family Brassicaceae, for which genomic resources are available only to a limited extent in comparison to many other members of the family. To promote more genetic and genomic studies and to enhance breeding programmes of R.

Genetic and phenotypic characterization of Ethiopian durum wheat: A comprehensive review of trait diversity and breeding potential

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Ethiopian durum wheat (Triticum turgidum ssp. durum) is a globally significant crop recognized for its rich genetic diversity, stress adaptation, and high grain quality. This review consolidates over 20 years of research on the phenotypic and genotypic characterization of Ethiopian durum wheat landraces, focusing on trait discovery, genome ...

Revisiting the Molecular Roadmap for Sugar Crops: Genome Reading, Trait Writing and Variety Redesigning

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 9, Page 5013-5040, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Sugar crops, including but not limited to sugarcane, sugar beet, sweet sorghum and stevia, are major sources of sugar production in the world. However, conventional breeding approaches, limited by long breeding cycles, low efficiency and restricted capacity to improve complex traits in sugar crops, are increasingly insufficient to address the ...
