Sirolimus for Extracranial Arteriovenous Malformations: A Scoping Review of the Evidence in Syndromic and Non‐Syndromic Cases

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are rare, high‐flow, vascular anomalies that can occur either sporadically or as part of a genetic syndrome. AVMs can progress with serious morbidity and even mortality if left unchecked. Sirolimus is an mTOR inhibitor that is effective in low‐flow vascular malformations; however, its role in AVMs is unclear.

An additive problem in the Fourier coefficients of cusp forms

open access: yes, 2003
We establish an estimate on sums of shifted products of Fourier coefficients coming from holomorphic or Maass cusp forms of arbitrary level and nebentypus. These sums are analogous to the binary additive divisor sum which has been studied extensively. As

Evaluating the Utility of Paired Tumor and Germline Targeted DNA Sequencing for Pediatric Oncology Patients: A Single Institution Report

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the diagnostic yield and utility of universal paired tumor–normal multigene panel sequencing in newly diagnosed pediatric solid and central nervous system (CNS) tumor patients and to compare the detection of germline pathogenic/likely pathogenic variants (PV/LPVs) against established clinical referral criteria for cancer ...

The cubic moment of central values of automorphic L-functions

open access: yes, 2000
The authors study the central values of L-functions in certain families; in particular they bound the sum of the cubes of these values.Contents:Comment: 42 pages, published ...

A mean value estimate for real character sums [PDF]

open access: yesActa Arithmetica, 1995
Let \(S(Q)\) be the set of all primitive real characters of conductor at most \(Q\), and let \(n\) run over square-free numbers. It is shown that \[ \sum_{\chi \in S(Q)} \Bigl |\sum_{n \leq N} a_n \chi (n) \Bigr |^2 \ll (QN)^\varepsilon (Q + N) \sum_{n \leq N} |a_n |^2, \] for any \(\varepsilon > 0\). This sharpens an estimate of \textit{P. D. T.

Preferences of Pediatric Patients and Their Caregivers for Chemotherapy‐Induced Nausea and Vomiting Control Endpoints: A Mixed Methods Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Although not always achieved, complete chemotherapy‐induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) control is the conventional goal of CINV prophylaxis. In this two‐center, mixed‐methods study, we sought to understand the preferences of adolescent patients and family caregivers for CINV control endpoints.

On Point Sets in Vector Spaces over Finite Fields That Determine Only Acute Angle Triangles

open access: yes, 2009
For three points $\vec{u}$,$\vec{v}$ and $\vec{w}$ in the $n$-dimensional space $\F_q^n$ over the finite field $\F_q$ of $q$ elements we give a natural interpretation of an acute angle triangle defined by this points. We obtain an upper bound on the size

Outcomes of Live Virus Vaccination in Patients With Vascular Anomalies Being Treated With Sirolimus

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Live vaccination in patients with vascular anomalies (VA) receiving sirolimus remains controversial due to immunosuppressive effects and theoretical risks. Procedure This single‐center retrospective study included patients with VA less than 4 years old at the start of sirolimus therapy who were incompletely vaccinated.

Exponential sums and polynomial congruences in two variables: the quasi-homogeneous case [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We adapt ideas of Phong, Stein and Sturm and ideas of Ikromov and M\"uller from the continuous setting to various discrete settings, obtaining sharp bounds for exponential sums and the number of solutions to polynomial congruences for general quasi ...

Fermat quotients: Exponential sums, value set and primitive roots

open access: yes, 2011
For a prime $p$ and an integer $u$ with $\gcd(u,p)=1$, we define Fermat quotients by the conditions $$ q_p(u) \equiv \frac{u^{p-1} -1}{p} \pmod p, \qquad 0 \le q_p(u) \le p-1. $$ D. R.
