MSE lower bounds for deterministic parameter estimation [PDF]
This paper presents a simple approach for deriving computable lower bounds on the MSE of deterministic parameter estimators with a clear interpretation of the bounds.

A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Unsupervised Training of Deep Neural Networks for Motion Estimation [PDF]
PhDThis thesis addresses the problem of motion estimation, that is, the estimation of a eld that describes how pixels move from a reference frame to a target frame, using Deep Neural Networks (DNNs).

This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Ratio estimation of the mean under RRT models [PDF]
Ratio estimation is a parameter estimation technique that uses a known auxiliary variable that is correlated with the study variable. In many situations, the primary variable of interest may be sensitive and it cannot be observed directly.

Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Magnitude estimation in humans [PDF]
Anyone who has climbed a mountain before knows that the perceived distance walked depends on more than just its physical length. This intriguing relationship between physical and experienced magnitudes has fascinated researchers across various ...
