Software Effort Estimation Using Particle Swarm Optimization with Inertia Weight

open access: yes, 2011
Software is the most expensive element of virtually all computer based systems. For complex custom systems, a large effort estimation error can make the difference between profit and loss. Cost (Effort) Overruns can be disastrous for the developer.

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

On Convergence of the Horn and Schunck

open access: yes, 2008
The purpose of this study is to prove convergence results for the Horn and Schunck optical-flow estimation method. Horn and Schunck stated optical-flow estimation as the minimization of a functional.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

STATIC STATE ESTIMATION AND LOAD FORECASTING VIA ADVANCED COMPUTATIONAL TECHNIQUES

open access: yes, 2019
The system operator faced high level of uncertainties due to the evolving complexity of the electric power systems. Therefore, efficient solutions for power system prediction, monitoring and state estimation can be found in new methods.

Distributed moving horizon estimation for sensor Networks

open access: yes, 2009
This paper focuses on distributed state estimation using a sensor network for monitoring a linear system. In order to account for physical constraints on process states and inputs, we propose a moving horizon approach where each sensor has to solve a ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

A comparative study on quantitative precipitation estimation based on GPM satellite and X-band phased-array weather radar

open access: yesFrontiers in Remote Sensing
This study investigates the performance of the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) satellite in comparison to the X-band Phased Array Weather Radar (XPAR) regarding precipitation measurement accuracy, focusing on radar echoes.
