Reproductive Management of Dairy Cattle Based on Synchronization of Estrous Cycles
High-yielding dairy cows (199) were allotted to a control group or one of two groups for synchronization of estrus. Synchronization of estrus was accomplished by either insertion of a progesterone-releasing intravaginal device (progesterone coil) for 7 days with .5 mg of the prostaglandin analogue cloprostenol (Estrumate) administered 1 day before ...

Species respond to climate change through phenological and spatial shifts. Herbivorous mammals, in particular, are vulnerable due to their direct dependence on seasonal vegetation and the potential misalignment between their reproductive cycles and shifting food availability.

Selection for catatonia: Effect on sexual function and estrous cycle synchronization
Body, ovary, and uterus weights; estrous cycle; dopamine and norepinephrine levels in the hypothalamus; and testosterone levels in blood plasma have been recorded in 2–3-month old GC female rats selected for elevated catatonia response and compared with the outbred Wistar stock.

Handmade Biopsy for Genotyping of In Vitro‐Produced Bovine Embryos
ABSTRACT Blastocyst biopsy allows genomic selection of pre‐implantation bovine embryos, reducing generation interval and enhancing the genetic gain. We aimed to evaluate the suitability of a simple biopsy procedure, performed by hands, using a splitting microblade and a stereoscope, on in vitro‐produced embryos. Crossbred Bos taurus x B.

Cytochrome P450 1A1 influences obesity‐induced pulmonary hypertension
Background and Purpose The contribution of obesity to pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) pathophysiology remains poorly understood. Adipose tissue synthesises estrogens via cytochrome P450 (CYP) 19A1 (aromatase), whereas circulating estrogens are metabolised in the lung by CYP1A1.
