Abstract Background Sporadic venous malformation (VM) is associated with the hyperactivating p.L914F mutation in TIE2, a receptor tyrosine kinase essential for vascular development. This mutation is not found in hereditary VM, suggesting incompatibility with life when expressed during early vascular development.

Status epilepticus: Updates on mechanisms and treatments
Abstract Status epilepticus (SE) consists of prolonged, self‐sustaining seizures and is a common neurological emergency that causes respiratory compromise and neuronal injury. Without prompt treatment, the seizures can become resistant to benzodiazepines, leading to the progressive evolution of established, refractory, and super‐refractory SE.

Portable Radar for Noncontact Heart Rate Monitoring and Estrus Detection in Dairy Cows
This study introduces a portable radar system for real‐time monitoring of respiratory and heart rates in dairy cows. It uses millimeter‐wave Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar to perform noncontact physiological sensing, reducing behavioral disturbance. The radar system's design prioritizes portability, cost‐effectiveness, and robustness,

Abundant deer populations often cause conflicts in suburban communities, yet traditional population reduction methods, such as controlled hunting, can be challenging to implement. Fertility control, specifically through ovariectomy, can limit reproduction and reduce populations in certain settings, but its effect on movement behavior remains poorly ...

In embryo transfer experiments in mice, pseudopregnant females as recipients are prepared by sterile mating with vasectomized males. Because only females at the proestrus stage accept males, such females are selected from a stock of animals based on the ...

In vitro embryo production (IVEP) is now a widely commercialised assisted reproductive technology used in cattle reproduction. The use of follicle‐stimulating hormone (FSH) to superstimulate donor cattle prior to ovum pick‐up (OPU) is generally regarded as an effective strategy to improve oocyte quality, developmental competence and increase embryo ...

Women in space: A review of known physiological adaptations and health perspectives
Abstract Exposure to the spaceflight environment causes adaptations in most human physiological systems, many of which are thought to affect women differently from men. Since only 11.5% of astronauts worldwide have been female, these issues are largely understudied.
