Status epilepticus: Updates on mechanisms and treatments

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Status epilepticus (SE) consists of prolonged, self‐sustaining seizures and is a common neurological emergency that causes respiratory compromise and neuronal injury. Without prompt treatment, the seizures can become resistant to benzodiazepines, leading to the progressive evolution of established, refractory, and super‐refractory SE.

Impact of donor mare and stallion identity on the likelihood of pregnancy after transfer of in vitro produced embryos

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The success of in vitro embryo production (IVEP) is influenced by donor mare and stallion. Objectives To determine whether donor mare and stallion influence the pregnancy rate after transfer of in vitro produced (IVP) blastocysts and to identify factors influencing the likelihood of obtaining one or more pregnancies from a single ...

Age, embryo donor status, and insemination with chilled semen all predispose to persistent breeding‐induced endometritis in warmblood mares

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Persistent breeding‐induced endometritis (PBIE) is a common reason for mares failing to establish pregnancy. Objective To examine the hypothesis that advancing mare age and embryo donor status predispose to PBIE and compromise fertility.

Donkwa Enriched With Goron‐Tula (Azanza garckeana) Modulates Sexual Behavior and Activity of Enzymes Linked With Erectile Dysfunction in High‐Fat Diets/ Streptozotocin‐Induced (STZ/HFD) Diabetic Rats

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
(A) Mount number, (B) mount latency, (C) intromission number, and (D) intromission latency are the parameters of sexual behavior. Met = metformin. D100 = 100 Donkwa. D90G10 = 90% Donkwa + 10% Goron‐Tula. D85G15 = 85% Donkwa + 15% Goron‐Tula. D80G20 = 80% Donkwa + 20% Goron‐Tula. The mean ± standard error of the mean (SEM) expressed the results. *Values

Influence of estrus on dry matter intake, water intake and BW of dairy cows

open access: yesAnimal, 2014
The objectives of this study were to analyze whether dry matter intake (DMI), water intake (WI) and BW were influenced by estrus. A second objective was to determine whether correlations exist among these traits in non-estrous days.

Isoallopregnanolone Inhibits Estrus Cycle-Dependent Aggressive Behavior

open access: yes, 2023
Among female rats, some individuals show estrus cycle-dependent irritability/aggressive behaviors, and these individual rats may be used as a model for premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). We wanted to investigate if these behaviors are related to the

Sexual dimorphism in hormone–gut microbiome associations across reproductive states in wild giant pandas

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
Gut microbiota–host endocrine interactions in wild mammals remain poorly understood. Giant pandas experience seasonal dietary shifts and constrained annual reproduction, offering an ideal model to investigate microbiome–endocrine coupling. We integrated fecal hormone profiling, microsatellite‐based individual identification, and gut microbiome ...

The Effect Parsley (Petroselinum crispum) Diet on Receptivity of Does

open access: yesScientific Papers Animal Science and Biotechnologies, 2023
The aim of the work is focused on parsley (Petroselinum crispum) and the effect on the receptivity in young female broiler rabbits. Nulliparous females of broiler hybrid HYCOLE (age 4-5 months, weight 3.5-3.8 kg) were used for this experiment. Experiment
