Inhibitory effect of ethanol on ethanol fermentation.
Anaerobic growth of Saccharomyces carlsbergensis LAM 1068 was inhibited completely at the ethanol concentration of Pmg=95g/l. However, carbon dioxide still produced in a Warburg flask at the ethanol concentration higher than 95g/l. The minimum ethanol concentration for complete inhibition of fermentation was Pmf=195g/l.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Water/Ethanol and 13X Zeolite Pairs for Long-Term Thermal Energy Storage at Ambient Pressure
Thermal energy storage is a key technology to increase the global energy share of renewables—by matching energy availability and demand—and to improve the fuel economy of energy systems—by recovery and reutilization of waste heat.

Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Microfluidic electro‐viscoelastic manipulation of extracellular vesicles
The electro‐viscoelastic manipulation as a potential method for separation of particles based on size. The particles introduced as a sheath flow migrate to the channel center under the influence of simultaneously applied electric field and pressure driven flow.

Ro 31‐8220 suppresses bladder cancer progression via enhancing autophagy in vitro and in vivo
The pan‐protein kinase C inhibitor Ro‐31‐8220 demonstrates potent anti‐bladder cancer effects both in vitro and in vivo by suppressing migration/invasion, inducing apoptosis and crucially activating autophagy, where blocking autophagy with chloroquine reduces its cell‐killing efficacy, suggesting its promise as a novel therapeutic candidate requiring ...

Tribological Behavior of Polyethylene/Light Metal Pairs in Low Viscosity Organic Solvents
Sliding tests with a polyethylene (PE) pin against aluminum (Al) and titanium (Ti) disks were conducted under dry conditions, in n-undecane and in ethanol using a unidirectional pin-on-disk machine to evaluate lubrication compatibility.

In this research, a rat model of asthma was created using OVA, and polydatin served as an intervention. By inhibiting ferroautophagy mediated by NCOA4 and averting ferroptosis, polydatin has been demonstrated to reduce asthma. This work presents new ideas for investigating the mechanism of polydatin's ability to alleviate asthma, in addition to ...
