Hyperpolarized para-Ethanol [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2015
We show that an imbalance between the populations of singlet (S) and triplet (T) states in pairs of magnetically equivalent spins can be generated by dissolution dynamic nudear polarization: In partly deuterated ethanol ((CD3CH2OD)-C-13), this T/S imbalance can be transferred by cross-relaxation to observable, enhanced signals of protons and coupled C ...

Fermentation parameters, quality and losses in sugarcane silages treated with chemical additives and a bacterial inoculant

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Zootecnia, 2011
The objective of this trial was to evaluate chemical additives and a bacterial inoculant on the inhibition of alcoholic fermentation and reduction of losses in sugarcane silages. Treatments were (doses on a fresh forage basis): without additive (control);

ShcD adaptor protein drives invasion of triple negative breast cancer cells by aberrant activation of EGFR signaling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

Study of complex properties of binary system of ethanol-methanol at extreme concentrations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
At low concentrations of methanol in ethanol-methanol binary system, the molecular interactions are seen to be uniquely complex. It is observed that the ethanol aggregates are not strictly hydrogen-bonded complexes; dispersion forces also play a dominant role in the self- association of ethanol molecules.

Detection of ethanol in water by electrical impedance spectroscopy and resonant perturbation method [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Development of highly sensitive, portable and low-cost sensors for the evaluation of ethanol content in liquid is particularly important in several process monitoring, from food to pharmaceutical industry. In this respect, here we report on the design, fabrication and performances of two simple electrical devices, namely interdigitated (ID) electrodes ...

Targeting the AKT/mTOR pathway attenuates the metastatic potential of colorectal carcinoma circulating tumor cells in a murine xenotransplantation model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dual targeting of AKT and mTOR using MK2206 and RAD001 reduces tumor burden in an intracardiac colon cancer circulating tumor cell xenotransplantation model. Analysis of AKT isoform‐specific knockdowns in CTC‐MCC‐41 reveals differentially regulated proteins and phospho‐proteins by liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry. Circulating tumor cells

GABA-Aα5 Might Be Involved in Learning-Memory Dysfunction in the Offsprings of Chronic Ethanol-Treated Rats via GABA-Aα5 Histone H3K9 Acetylation

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2019
Recently, numerous studies have been focused on the relationship between GABA-A receptors and alcohol-induced spatial learning and memory deficits.

Prominent ethanol sensing with Cr2O3 nanoparticle-decorated ZnS nanorods sensors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
ZnS nanorods and Cr2O3 nanoparticle decorated ZnS nanorods were synthesized using facile hydrothermal techniques and their ethanol sensing properties were examined. X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy revealed the good crystallinity and size uniformity of the ZnS nanorods.
