Cavitation-induced shock wave behaviour in different liquids

open access: yesUltrasonics Sonochemistry, 2023
This paper follows our earlier work where a strong high frequency pressure peak has been observed as a consequence of the formation of shock waves due to the collapse of cavitation bubbles in water, excited by an ultrasonic source at 24 kHz.

Thermochromism of Corrole Solutions in Ethanol

open access: yesJournal of Applied Spectroscopy, 2019
The temperature dependence of electronic absorption spectra of a family of 5,10,15-triarylcorroles in EtOH solution was studied in the range 288–328 K. Corroles in EtOH existed as mixtures of the free base and deprotonated form, the ratio of which was determined by the donor–acceptor properties of the peripheral substituents.

A green solution for ethanol production [PDF]

open access: yesMicrobiology Australia, 2008
The use of ethanol as an automotive fuel dates back to the early 20th century, with a memorable example being Henry Ford’s famous T model that was able to run on pure ethanol. With increased interest in renewable resources, the use of bioethanol as an automotive fuel on a global scale has been increasing; however, the long-term viability of ethanol as ...

Reduction of gray mold development in table grapes by preharvest sprays with ethanol and calcium chloride. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Preharvest applications of a 16% ethanol (EtOH) solution, containing 1 % of calcium chloride (CaCl2), reduced gray mold development in ‘Chasselas’ table grapes picked at a late harvest date, the losses due to rotten clusters dropped from 15% in controls ...

Acute ethanol gavage attenuates hemorrhage/resuscitation-induced hepatic oxidative stress in rats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Acute ethanol intoxication increases the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Hemorrhagic shock with subsequent resuscitation (H/R) also induces ROS resulting in cellular and hepatic damage in vivo.

Experimental study on interface friction between geosynthetic clay liner (GCL) and geomembrane under different hydration conditions [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2021
The interfacial friction properties of GCL and geomembrane under different hydration conditions are discussed. In addition, the ionic solubility of hydration solution, the size of hydration normal stress and test conditions will affect the shear strength
