Low toxic nitromethane based monopropellant for gas generator cycle air turbo ramjet engine

open access: yesPropulsion and Power Research, 2022
The present study proposes ethanol-nitromethane mixture as a safe, storable, and low toxic monopropellant for a gas generator cycle air turbo ramjet engine and evaluates its propulsion performance.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Intrinsic properties of larval zebrafish neurons in ethanol. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
The behavioral effects of ethanol have been studied in multiple animal models including zebrafish. Locomotion of zebrafish larvae is resistant to high concentrations of ethanol in bath solution.

Kinetics of Ethanol Production from Whey by Fermentation using Kluyveromyces marxianus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Whey is the liquid remaining after milk has been curdled and strained. It is a by-product of the manufacture of cheese or casein and has several commercial uses.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Can calories from ethanol contribute to body weight preservation by malnourished rats?

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 2004
Our objective was to compare the use of calories from ethanol by well-nourished and malnourished rats in terms of body weight. Female Wistar rats weighing 170-180 g at the beginning of the study were used. The animals were divided into two groups (N = 12

Kinetics of the Catalytic Dehydrogenation of Ethanol and Aqueous Solution of Ethanol

open access: yesChemical engineering, 1961
The work was undertaken to determine the reaction rate of the catalytic dehydrogenation of ethanol and aqueous solution of ethanol. The reaction rate was measured over the range of space velocities (3.0×1033.8×102) and temperatures (240°270°C), using the Cu-Cr catalyst coating the carrier.

Links between intake of ethanol and nicotine and reward-related mechanisms [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
1. Examination was made of the effects of housing conditions on the preference of mice for dilute ethanol or water in a two-bottle choice. Isolating mice from groups of five after 10 days significantly increased their ethanol preference, compared to mice

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Design Process of Ethanol Production by Extractive -Fermentation to Increase The Yield and Productivity of Ethanol [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Ethanol is generally produced by batch fermentation process. However, this process will bring about accumulation of ethanol product which can poison the microorganism and lead to low productivity which finally results in an economical disadvantage.
