1H NMR determination of the self-association of an acridine homodimer and its complexation with ethidium bromide in aqueous solution [PDF]
1H NMR spectroscopy (500MHz) has been used to investigate the self-association in aqueous buffered solution of a bis-intercalator, Acridine Homodimer (AcrH), and its hetero-association with the aromatic dye, Ethidium Bromide (EB).

The effect of ethidium bromide on DNA internal motions
In the present study using /sup 31/P and /sup 1/H NMR, we have measured DNA area and relaxation time changes which occur when the intercalating drug ethidium bromide (EB) binds to a 300-base-pair-long DNA fragment. We find that when EB binds to DNA, /sup 1/H, and /sup 31/P NMR resonance area becomes unmeasurable within a two-base-pair-long region.

Ethidium bromide-induced demyelination of the sciatic nerve of adult Wistar rats [PDF]
Peripheral nerve ultrastructure was assessed after single or multiple local injections of the intercalating dye ethidium bromide. Thirty-four adult Wistar rats of both sexes were divided into five groups and maintained in a controlled environment with ...

Ethidium bromide: Destruction and decontamination of solutions [PDF]
Ethidium bromide in water, TBE buffer, Mops buffer, and cesium chloride solution may be completely degraded by reaction with sodium nitrite and hypophosphorous acid. Only non-mutagenic reaction mixtures were produced. Destruction was greater than 99.8% in all cases; the limit of detection was 0.5 micrograms ethidium bromide per milliliter of solution ...

EXAMINATION OF (PHENOTHIAZINYL)VINYL-PYRIDINIUM DYE’S CAPACITY OF INTERACTION WITH DNA
The interaction of (E)-4-(2-(7-bromo-10-ethyl-10H-phenothiazin-3-yl)vinyl)-1-methylpyridin-1-ium (PVP) dyes with calf-thymus DNA was examined by spectrophotometric UV-vis absorption/emission titration and competitive ethidium bromide displacement.

Recoiling DNA Molecule: Simulation & Experiment [PDF]
Single molecule DNA experiments often generate data from force versus extension measurements involving the tethering of a microsphere to one end of a single DNA molecule while the other is attached to a substrate.

Comparison of different DNA staining methods in the comet assay
Single-cell gel electrophoresis (SCGE, comet assay) is a sensitive technique for measuring DNA damage at the level of an individual cell (Collins, A.R. 2013).
