ETS1 gene in myelodysplastic syndrome with chromosome change at 11q23
Cancer Genetics and Cytogenetics, 1990We examined the c-ets1 gene (located at 11q23) in two myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) patients displaying a chromosome change at band 11q23 to ascertain any association between this oncogene and the chromosome change. Besides the chromosome change at 11q23, the two MDS patients also showed other numerical and structural changes.

ETS proto-oncogene 1 (ETS1) is a transcription factor (TF) critically involved in lymphoid cell development and function. ETS1 expression is tightly regulated throughout differentiation and activation in T-cells, natural killer (NK) cells, and B-cells. Protective Role of Ets1 in SLE
2014Abstract : Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) at ets1 locus have been shown to increase the risk of SLE. Ets1-deficient mice display a few autoimmune features similar to SLE and their T cells produce an abnormally high level of IL-10 and a low level of IL-2, two features reminiscent of those of T cells of lupus patients.
