Triterpenoids from Eucalyptus camaldulensisDehnh. Tissue Cultures

open access: yesHelvetica Chimica Acta, 2008
AbstractA chemical study on tissue cultures from leaves and flowers of E. camaldulensis Dehnh. afforded the new natural product (2α,3β)‐2,3,23‐trihydroxy‐13,28‐epoxyurs‐11‐en‐28‐one (dryobalanolide) together with the known pentacyclic triterpenoids: betulinic acid, oleanolic acid, ursolic acid, (2α,3β)‐2,3,23‐trihydroxyolean‐12‐en‐28‐oic acid ...

Assessing the Impact of Subsurface Clay Layers on Water Use Dynamics in Eucalyptus globulus Plantations

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 40, Issue 2, February 2026.
Eucalyptus globulus sites underlain by thin clay layers exhibited substantially higher transpiration, groundwater use, and stand productivity compared to sites underlain by thick clay layers. Mean annual net water balance at thick clay sites was negligible. Access to groundwater was likely restricted by thick clay layers, resulting in reduced water use

Aromatic Plants in Eurasian Blue Tit Nests: The ‘Nest [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The ‘Nest Protection Hypothesis’ suggests that some birds add aromatic plants to their nests to repel or kill ectoparasites. This behavior has been described for several species, including the Eurasian Blue Tit (Cyanistes caeruleus).

Efficacy, Safety and Biological Characteristics of Formulation Based on Essential Oil Against Co‐Infections of Herpes Simplex Virus‐1 and Candida albicans

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 1, February 2026.
Essential oils with anti‐HSV‐1 activity were identified through literature review and tested against Candida to develop a formulation for co‐infections. The blend was assessed for anti‐inflammatory properties, allergenic potential via standardized BAT, and overall antiviral efficacy.

Toward eco‐sustainable afforestation in arid lands: key lessons from a 23‐year‐old arboretum of native and non‐native trees in Jordan

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, Volume 34, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract Introduction Afforestation is a key restoration strategy for mitigating land degradation and desertification in semiarid regions. However, evaluating the ecological impacts of tree species used for sustainable dryland restoration is crucial. For example, non‐native tree species may become invasive, with negative effects on native understory ...

Leptocybe invasa Fisher & La Salle, 2004 and Ophelimus maskelli Haliday, 1844 - two new records of gall forming Eulophidae from Malta (Hymenoptera, Chalcidoidea) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The Eulophidae (Hymenoptera, Chalcidoidea) currently accommodates more than 4,000 described species worldwide in some 300 genera (noyES, 2003). In Europe, the family is represented by about 1,100 species (GAuld & Bolton, 1988).
