Synthesis and Characterization of DOPO Modified Tetraglycidyl Eugenol Cyclic Siloxane Resins Cured with Tannic Acid

A tetra glycidyl eugenol cyclic siloxane resin is synthesized and systematically modified with increasing concentrations of DOPO. After cure with the bioderived phenolic tannic acid, flexural modulus, strength and strain to failure increases to a maximum, greatly increasing fire retardancy.

Abstract Following a request from the European Commission, EFSA was asked to deliver a scientific opinion on the safety and efficacy of 1‐methoxy‐4‐(prop‐1‐(trans)‐enyl)benzene (trans‐anethole) and eugenol as sensory feed additives for all avian species. The additives are already authorised for use in all animal species except fish and poultry.
