Biologic properties of eugenol and zinc oxide-eugenol
Eugenol-containing dental materials are frequently used in clinical dentistry. When zinc oxide-eugenol (ZOE) is applied to a dentinal cavity, small quantities of eugenol diffuse through the dentin to the pulp. Low concentrations of eugenol exert anti-inflammatory and local anesthetic effects on the dental pulp.

Eugenol as An In Vivo Radioprotective Agent [PDF]
In the present work, an attempt has been made to evaluate the possible in vivo radioprotection by eugenol. Swiss albino mice were administered different doses of eugenol (75,150 and 300 mg/kg) before exposure to 1.5 Gy of gamma radiation. The micronucleus test was carried out to determine the genetic damage in bone marrow.

Local anesthetics (LAs) can completely block nociception by inhibiting voltage-gated sodium channels (VGSCs), and thus, blocking action potentials (APs) within sensory neurons. As one of the several LAs, eugenol is used for dental pain treatment.

Designing of Self‐Dispersing Soft Dendritic Microcleaners for Microplastics Capture and Recovery
The capture and recovery of microplastics from open aquatic systems is a complex problem, which necessitates nontrivial solutions. The principles of a comprehensive multistage process based on sustainably sourced microcleaners with hierarchical morphology are demonstrated.

Photoinduced Polymerization of Eugenol-Derived Methacrylates [PDF]
Biobased monomers have been used to replace their petroleum counterparts in the synthesis of polymers that are aimed at different applications. However, environmentally friendly polymerization processes are also essential to guarantee greener materials.

Intraoral Drug Delivery: Bridging the Gap Between Academic Research and Industrial Innovations
Intraoral drug delivery offers a promising route for systemic and localized therapies, yet challenges such as enzymatic degradation, limited permeability, and microbial interactions hinder efficacy. This figure highlights innovative strategies—mucoadhesive materials, enzyme inhibitors, and permeation enhancers—to overcome these barriers.
