A mixed Euler-Euler/Euler-Lagrange approach to erosion prediction [PDF]
Providing quantitative assessment of erosion in the various parts of a piping system is of considerable importance in the oil&gas industry. Field and lab erosion testing are extremely onerous and, for this reason, this task is typically achieved by means

Numerical Modeling of Photothermal Self‐Excited Composite Oscillators
We present a numerical framework for simulating photothermal self‐excited oscillations. The driving mechanism is elucidated by highlighting the roles of inertia and overshoot, as well as the phase lag between the thermal moment and the oscillation angle, which together construct the feedback loop between the system state and the environmental stimulus.

Layout Metrics for Euler Diagrams [PDF]
We present an aesthetics based method for drawing Euler diagrams. Aesthetic layout metrics have been found to be useful in graph drawing algorithms, which use metrics motivated by aesthetic principles that aid user understanding of diagrams.

In this new work, the free motion of a coupled oscillator is investigated. First, a fully description of the system under study is formulated by considering its classical Lagrangian, and as a result, the classical Euler–Lagrange equations of motion are ...

A Perspective on Interactive Theorem Provers in Physics
Into an interactive theorem provers (ITPs), one can write mathematical definitions, theorems and proofs, and the correctness of those results is automatically checked. This perspective goes over the best usage of ITPs within physics and motivates the open‐source community run project PhysLean, the aim of which is to be a library for digitalized physics

Nonlinear antiwindup applied to Euler–Lagrange systems [PDF]
In this paper, we propose a nonlinear antiwindup scheme to guarantee stability and local performance recovery on Euler-Lagrange systems subject to input magnitude saturation.

Fractional Complex Euler–Lagrange Equation: Nonconservative Systems [PDF]
Classical forbidden processes paved the way for the description of mechanical systems with the help of complex Hamiltonians. Fractional integrals of complex order appear as a natural generalization of those of real order.

The Lie group Euler methods of multibody system dynamics with holonomic constraints
The Euler methods on Lie group are developed for the differential–algebraic equations of multibody system dynamics with holonomic constraints. The implicit Euler method is used to solve the differential–algebraic equations as Euler–Lagrange equations on ...
