Evaluating Sales Forecasting Methods in Make-to-Order Environments: A Cross-Industry Benchmark Study

open access: yesComputer Sciences & Mathematics Forum
Sales forecasting in make-to-order (MTO) production is particularly challenging for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) due to high product customization, volatile demand, and limited historical data. This study evaluates the practical feasibility

Approximating viscosity solutions of the Euler system

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 2022
Applying the concept of S-convergence, based on averaging in the spirit of Strong Law of Large Numbers, the vanishing viscosity solutions of the Euler system are studied. We show how to efficiently compute a viscosity solution of the Euler system as the S-limit of numerical solutions obtained by the viscosity finite volume method.

Pulse-Modulated Sampled-Data Second-Order Consensus for Multiple Euler-Lagrange Systems Without Neighbors’ Velocity Measurement

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
This paper studies the sampled-data second-order consensus of multiple Euler-Lagrange systems without knowing neighbors’ velocities. The second-order feedback control method of the Euler-Lagrange system naturally excludes the infinities in the ...

Sampled-Data Consensus for Networked Euler-Lagrange Systems With Differentiable Scaling Functions

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
This paper is concerned with the sampled-data consensus of networked Euler-Lagrange systems. The Euler-Lagrange system has enormous advantages in analyzing and designing dynamical systems.

Centralized Control in Networks of Underactuated Nonidentical Euler–Lagrange Systems Using a Generalised Multicoordinates Transformation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
Controlling the network of underactuated Euler–Lagrange (EL) systems is challenging because of their coupled inertia matrices and time-variant control input matrices. We present generalized multi-coordinates transformation that renders the network

Variable Stiffness Flexure Structures Enabled by Phase‐Change Gallium and Adhesive Interfacial Locking for Soft Robotic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A flexure‐based variable stiffness structure is developed by integrating phase‐change modulation and adhesive interfacial locking of gallium. The design enables a wide stiffness variability, transitioning from soft, flexible behavior to rigid, load‐supporting performance.

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Comparative Study of Discretization Methods for Non-Ideal Proportional-Resonant Controllers in Voltage Regulation of Three-Phase Four-Wire Converters with Vehicle-to-Home Mode

open access: yesWorld Electric Vehicle Journal
Vehicle-to-home (V2H) technology enables electric vehicles (EVs) to supply power to residential loads, offering enhanced energy self-sufficiency and backup capabilities. Accurate voltage regulation is essential in such systems, especially under nonlinear

A new spectral invariant for quantum graphs

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
The Euler characteristic i.e., the difference between the number of vertices |V| and edges |E| is the most important topological characteristic of a graph.

Smooth, Singularity-Free, Finite-Time Tracking Control for Euler–Lagrange Systems

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
This paper investigates the problem of constrained finite-time tracking control of Euler–Lagrange systems subject to system uncertainties and external disturbances. Firstly, we introduce a nonsingular, fast, constrained terminal sliding manifold (NFCTSM)
