Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

ERGA-BGE reference genome of Leviellus thorelli, a common orb-weaving spider representing the Zygiellidae family [version 1; peer review: 2 approved]

open access: yesOpen Research Europe
The Leviellus thorelli reference genome provides the first high-quality genomic resource for Zygiellidae, a family of orb-weaving spiders with a dynamic systematic history and distinct for constructing webs with a characteristic spiral-free sector.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Comprehensive Characterization of Multitissue Expression Landscape, Co-Expression Networks and Positive Selection in Pikeperch

open access: yesCells, 2021
Promising efforts are ongoing to extend genomics resources for pikeperch (Sander lucioperca), a species of high interest for the sustainable European aquaculture sector. Although previous work, including reference genome assembly, transcriptome sequence,

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

A lncRNA gene-enriched atlas for GRCg7b chicken genome using Ensembl, RefSeq and two FAANG databases

open access: yes, 2023
International audienceWith the release of new genome sequences, gene atlases in livestock species are steadily improving. Furthermore, genome annotations greatly vary across databases depending on data resources and bioinformatics pipelines used.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Value of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...

Comprehensive Analysis of the Effects of Genetic Ancestry and Genetic Characteristics on the Clinical Evolution of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, 2021
Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), a kind of malignant cancer, is associated with increasing morbidity and mortality. Patients with different genetic ancestries may respond differently to clinical treatment.
