Criteria for Comparison of Bands in Even–Even Nuclei

open access: yesActa Physica Hungarica A) Heavy Ion Physics, 2003
A cluster model gives a satisfactory reproduction of normal deformed (ND) ground state bands in a wide range of even-even nuclei. We show here that the fractional change of the transition energies in two bands is closely related to the fractional change in the corresponding reduced masses. We compare our predictions to data on ground state ND bands for

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Intruder states in even-even Te nuclei

open access: yesNuclear Physics A, 1989
Abstract We use a systematic analysis of experimental data for 112–128Te to provide evidence for existence of intruder excitations in 116–124Te. We augment our analysis with mixed configuration IBM-2 calculations and find good agreement between these calculations and both experimental energy-level systematics and transition rates.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

A new index measuring evenness

open access: yes, 1974
A new evenness index based on the Shannon-Wiener information H is defined as (eH -1)/(S -1).

Effects of invasive plant species on species diversity: implications on ruderal vegetation in Bratislava City, Slovakia, Central Europe

open access: yesActa Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae, 2019
Invasive species pose one of the most serious global environmental threats. Our study aimed to examine the correlation between the proportion of invasive alien taxa and species diversity of ruderal vegetation in the urban ecosystem of Bratislava, located

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

A parametric index of community evenness

open access: yes, 2000
Species relative abundance or community evenness is a basic component of any biodiversity measure. Several evenness indices have thus far been proposed in ecological literature.

Statistics of 2+ levels in even–even nuclei

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2004

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
