Smart, Bio‐Inspired Polymers and Bio‐Based Molecules Modified by Zwitterionic Motifs to Design Next‐Generation Materials for Medical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bio‐based and (semi‐)synthetic zwitterion‐modified novel materials and fully synthetic next‐generation alternatives show the importance of material design for different biomedical applications. The zwitterionic character affects the physiochemical behavior of the material and deepens the understanding of chemical interaction mechanisms within the ...

A Bespoke Programmable Interpenetrating Elastomer Network Composite Laryngeal Stent for Expedited Paediatric Laryngotracheal Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A programmable interpenetrating double‐network architecture, created via 3D‐TIPS printing and resin infusion, synergistically combines thermoplastic and thermosetting elastomers to balance structural rigidity and surface softness—crucial for paediatric laryngeal stents.

Dynamic Event Triggers

2020
The objective of this chapter is to extend the small-gain-based event-trigger design to nonlinear uncertain systems with partial-state or output feedback. For nonlinear systems with only partial state available to feedback, it is nontrivial to design static event triggers for asymptotic stabilization even if the system is disturbance-free.

Event-Triggered Distributed Multitarget Tracking

IEEE Transactions on Signal and Information Processing over Networks, 2019
This paper focuses on reducing communication bandwidth and, consequently, energy consumption in the context of distributed multitarget tracking over a peer-to-peer sensor network. A consensus cardinalized probability hypothesis density (CCPHD) filter with event-triggered communication is developed by enforcing each node to broadcast its local ...

Event‐triggered distributed constrained consensus

International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, 2016
SummaryWe consider a distributed consensus problem for continuous‐time multi‐agent systems with set constraints on the final states. To save communication costs, an event‐triggered communication‐based protocol is proposed. By comparing its own instantaneous state with the one previously broadcasted to neighbours, each agent determines the next ...

Event-Triggered Consensus Bernoulli Filtering

2018 21st International Conference on Information Fusion (FUSION), 2018
This paper focuses on reducing communication bandwidth and, consequently, energy consumption in the context of distributed target detection and tracking over a peer-to-peer sensor network. A consensus Bernoulli filter with event-triggered communication is developed by enforcing each node to transmit its local information to the neighbors only when a ...

Event-Triggered Nonlinear Iterative Learning Control

IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, 2021
An event-triggered nonlinear iterative learning control (ET-NILC) method is presented for repetitive nonaffine and nonlinear systems that have 2-D dynamic behavior along both time and iteration directions. Based on the virtual linear data model, the ET-NILC method is proposed by designing an event triggering condition based on the Lyapunov-like ...

Periodic Event-Triggered Control

2018
Recent developments in computer and communication technologies are leading to an increasingly networked and wireless world. This raises new challenging questions in the context of networked control systems, especially when the computation, communication, and energy resources of the system are limited.

Model‐based event‐triggered control of singularly perturbed system with dual event‐triggering mechanism

International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, 2022
AbstractIn this article, a new dual event‐triggering mechanism is proposed to implement a distributed model‐based event‐triggered control for a singularly perturbed system (SPS) having structured state space uncertainty. The proposed approach significantly reduces the amount of necessary information exchanged to control the system.
