Optimized Sliding Mode Frequency Controller for Power Systems Integrated Energy Storage System With Droop Control

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper proposes an adaptive-based single-phase higher-order sliding mode controller (SMC) optimized by the honey badger algorithm (HBA). The developed control method is employed for load frequency control (LFC) in electrical power systems (EPSs) that

Leveraging Evolutionary Algorithms for Feasible Hexapod Locomotion Across Uneven Terrain

open access: yesProceedings of the International Florida Artificial Intelligence Research Society Conference, 2022
Optimizing gait stability for legged robots is a difficult problem. Even on level surfaces, effectively traversing across different textures (e.g., carpet) rests on dynamically tuning parameters in multidimensional space.

Integrative systems‐level analysis reveals a contextual crosstalk between hypoxia and global metabolism in human breast tumors

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast tumor samples scored for metabolic deregulation (M1 to M3) were given a hypoxia score (HS). The highest HS occurred in patients with strongest metabolic deregulation (M3), supporting tumor aggressiveness. HS correlated with the highest number of metabolic pathways in M1. This suggests hypoxia to be an early event in metabolic deregulation.

A Cellular Automata Models of Evolution of Transportation Networks [PDF]

open access: yesComputer Science, 2002
We present a new approach to modelling of transportation networks. Supply of resources and their influence on the evolution of the consuming environment is a princqral problem considered.

Addressing persistent challenges in digital image analysis of cancer tissue: resources developed from a hackathon

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Large multidimensional digital images of cancer tissue are becoming prolific, but many challenges exist to automatically extract relevant information from them using computational tools. We describe publicly available resources that have been developed jointly by expert and non‐expert computational biologists working together during a virtual hackathon
